Yaya.. I going stage by stage.

If budget allowed, I might go for GX rim, I like the design of the rim which got straight spoke with dual tone color, while TRD got dual tone too, but with spiral spoke.

Great pick on GX sport rim. Make sure your body skirting is also GX aerokit
To match the GX sport rim..how about dvr recording ? Do it gradually when budget allows. White colour bulbs for bonnet cabin, interior light when open doors, and car reverse light??

Order from Service Centre(SC), need to include tyre alignment and balancing.GX rim is machine polished, and look great. Use back genuine 4x center cap.

Yea. First would be skirting. Rim will be after, but that also will see if budget allowed.

Yea. The bulbs also, but will do it gradually.. haha..

Btw, have you try tint your tail lamp with black or grey smoke effect film? I believe it also match well with our car..
*
No need to tint the tail lamp or main headlamp, as tint film will peel off and hard to sustain. Waste effort and $..

If I would like to order at service centre (SC), is it possible ? Since my car is not under warranty and no service at there. Tq
*
My 4x GX Rim ordered and installed at Toyota Service Centre(SC) in May 2017..
Capture the online umw computer system and part number.
Go and ask for GX Rim at service centre... if they cannot find the part number, provide GX Rim p/n to spare part person or service advisor person.

I see..
Yeap. Mine one have it. Super nice when you open door at dark.. prefer blue than red.. haha..
*
Use back genuine 4x tyres.. Change 4x genuine rim to GX Rim.
Genuine and GX rims were same, 15" ..

Firstly is the interior.
Mazda 2 best sporty / stylish interior with black leather + red stitching. + Those round air-con outlet reminiscing of old school sports car. (But those infotainment panels, i can only imagine my toddler ripping it apart)
Honda City is most gadgety interior, Nice clean finish with a lot of digital panel, no more manual knobs. Fancy
Vios is just.. typical. While the exterior looks nice, the interior is mostly plastic finish & doesn't look refined at all.

Secondly pricing. I compared between Vios G, City V & Mazda 2 (no variant)
Didn't get a pricing on Mazda 2 afterI test drive the car and the interior is too small for my family (me, wife, 2 babies) and 10+ years of expected usage.
Vios G is about 85k
City V is about 88k the only 1 that hv cruise control + body kit and yada yada yadaa

Test drive quality: Mazda 2 > Honda City > Vios

All in all, i chose City V for the big interior, all them specs, and quality of finish.

Own people got different wisdom levels and views..

Worldwide sales figures don't made up, and peoples in the world have made their decision making choice.. only in this country, Japanese #2 automotive company doing well.

https://www.driven.co.nz/news/news/revealed...ound-the-world/

Ask many of yr friends whom drove City, you will know how frequent they need to make SC appointment to fix many issues. or go to LYN city forum, and you'll what I meant.. Thanks for the feedback. Different people got different appetite tastes..

QUOTE(KayK @ Aug 16 2017, 11:01 PM)
it all depends on the buyer's need
I do agree that the V spec honda city is very tempting - with LED headlights and rear tailights, paddle shifts, 16" rims, 6 air bags

but at the same time, vios does come with some good spec as well such as rear disc brake, tint, DVR, 360 camera

in the end i chosen vios, because of those things included above seems more practical for my usage.
sure i would like to have 6 airbags (are you listening toyota?), LED, and paddle shifts

but with vios, i dont need to think about tinting - no need go shop and wait for them to install or worry about JPJ. The included tint is actually good enough. not sure if honda salesperson help to install for free now (i was offered vouchers instead) but i dont need to fork out additional $$$ for tinting.
DVR already installed - no need worry about hiding cabling, or warranty if get 3rd party accessory shop to install
360 camera - some may argue dont need 360 camera for b-segment car, but there are times when i found it very useful especially parking

and other things like reliability (not to say honda is bad or anything, but my dad use to own a toyota liteace van, which was driven more than 15 years, and i had a 1st gen vios, which was bought from second hand, 2004 car, until i trade in for the new vios) and (slightly?) less QC issue, as everyone is getting a honda nowdays

also, outdated or not, i actually prefer knob over touch screen for the aircon controller (1 thing though, the knob could use a more modern looking design)
i found knob are easier to "feel" and change without looking at it, especially when driving.

~just my opinion~

IMHO, 4 - 6 airbags will additional bonus to protect side door passengers, but the front 2x SRS airbags are the utmost critical importance. Cons = if car accidently push hard pedal, hit front house wall / barrier > 20km/h, all 6x airbags will be triggered and need replacement using own pocket $? On many many QC portion feedback on City forum, if the clockspring isn't working or QC nylon fabric not fold well into steering wheel, dashboard, side door, no point having 4 - 6 airbags..

Airbag = useful safety tool during ACCIDENT happens.
Rear DISC = useful safety tool too. Brake confidence, efficient + effective. To PREVENT accident happen..

If possible, future car in Malaysia have Both mentioned above, and other extra safety features as standard variant.. give more safety features than optional sport rim, body skirting, interior gadgets. Thanks

Many safety features too.. and many compromise QUALITY safety features installed in cars nowadays?? Safety first. Same goes to Quality.. don't compromise with human being LIFE at any cost at any time..

standard car safety features must have in variant models. question = how reliable, efficient and efficient of these safety features?? Are automotive companies are listening??

bros and sis,

i bought the car end 2013 new type of vios, now the steering wheel got prob- when turning, got sound like something loose truk truk...the mechanic at the service centre say its wear and tear so change it cost almost RM 6k...wtf... car only mileage 50k and less than 4 years old...

touch wood, any bro or sis here have same situation?
*
Go to another 2x nearby SC, and get 2nd opinion feedback.. I thought, 5 years warranty?? Year 2013, still under coverage, right? Otherwise, write official letter / email feedback to UMW Toyota about the warranty .. I knew 1x friend of my wrote official letter, or email feedback to Toyota USA or HQ 3 years ago, and successful got his Camry dashboard replacement warranty claim dispute if it is under 5 years warranty.

Is the "sound" continue when turning into left only, or right every time ?

Poke-Yoke, Six Sigma(DMAIC, 5 Whys),failure analysis, lean automotive manufacturing, Quality, 5S, FMEA, Murphy Law, Root Cause Analysis, SPC ..etc

VIP car or not, most importantly no compromise of safety features QUALITY QUALITY and not least, again QUALITY..

No point having many safety features, when it needed during emergency, these functions must to be efficient, effective and confidently safe lives..
