for me switch to small light only or off engine 😅

If off engine, defeat the purpose and the objective of the person asking. Wanting to stay in the car without sweating and mosquito bitting..

one question: for new car, can use for long distance drive? stay slow and rest more often maybe? please teach teach, thanks!
*
Distance is not a problem. What you need to do is not driving at constant speed for long, no hard brake and no sudden acceleration. Once milage reached 1k, go for first service and drive as you please afterwards.

Still no sound yet. What is your mileage bro?

If you switch to manual, drive slightly faster then drop 1 gear, does the sound more obvious?

27k mileage bro.. Hmm.. Its like aeroplane "weee" sound..
You may go into a indoor car park with less noise pollution, roll down both front windows,
Then accelerate the car gently until 30km/h, then release the pedal, you will hear the noise..
Errr... Tried before, it sounds like "yieeee", its different from what I mentioned above.. Maybe this is CVT behavior?
*
Eh, got different sound leh? I haven't pay any attention to cvt sound apart from the sound I'm currently facing which i slowly ignore. My problem as I'm picking up speed from 0kmh, can hear cvt purring..as you go faster, the purring gone.

I will try yours later and give feedback.

Hi guys, i have a question, when do you guys pump your car? When reach E or ????

For me i wait till hit a bit bottom from the E Bar so i can know how much mileage i have run with full tank.

One more thing is when the Fuel Bar reach E, is kinda hard/long on starting the engine, is that a common thing?

Several month ago, i went for my 3rd service at SC, the SO said is better to pump before reach E as if you always hit after E might cause fuel pump problems, is that really a truth or ????
*
I always refuel before reach E as a precaution if i need my car and i have an emergency.

Refuel immediately once the fuel indicator start blinking.

Never drive until out of fuel. Driving on fuel vapor can damage engine and sensors.

Hard to start probably there's air in fuel line due lack of fuel.

It's a matter of habbit.

I have lodged a complaint to the UMW, let's pray ahrd for me!

Owner Car- Toyota Vios 2019 Variant G
Vehicle taken- 2 March 2019

My vehicle developed serious fault. I had a dead pixel on my camera recorder's display. Today 27 March 2019, I sent my car for the very first service at Toyota Cheras Service Centre.

After the investigation, I was told that it was an accidentally drive-out the camera recorder. Yet I had done nothing on it as the car was just new and drove only 823 in 27 days. Then, the officer throws his hands up and says they can do nothing. STATUS- need to confirm with supplier suspect external cause during install tinted.

I'm felt that wasting time and money and not get any service when needed. I’m unsatisfied. Any idea about this case?

Go balakong SC.. If u can find one SA named Aziera, then u are lucky.. She Will entertain your request, abt your problems etc.. Last time my 360 camera faulty, claimed twice aldy, all under warranty.. No hassle, sent car in for troubleshooting, rectify the issue, order the parts, wait for call, go SC again for replacement..

If the issue happened intermittently, use your phone to record down the faulty scene.. Mine one also happened intermittently, i use my phone take video and show to the SA, she used it as proof and attach as warranty claim evidence..

Just go balakong sc and find her.. Trust me, even i so bossy but she still entertain me.. Hahaha..

I wonder if she got good bonus last year.

As a customer why should we put effort in finding more friendly SC when it is them that needs to attend to us? Don't let them take you for a ride.
*
Because not all SC are the same. I have sent my car to various SC. Look for SA with 3S full-fledged. Their service report is much detail and proper equipped. If you problem is solvable, it will be done quickly. Last resort, of course write letter.

QUOTE(yok70 @ Apr 7 2019, 08:38 AM)
You guys scary service complaints (liars, unreliable) and scary car quality (here got sound, there got loosing parts ) really....scare me. It sounds like Toyota (or should say, Vios) is nothing better than a Perodua or Proton. This made me wondering why so many people willing to pay an extra 50%-70% extra car price to get a Toyota instead of Perodua as they got the exact same engine, and the car body is not any better according to your complaints. Perodua service center has no much problem, they follow the Perodua service schedule, no liar, and for quite many parts if you don't follow they also never threaten to forfeit warranty. And Myvi has quite minimum maintenance costs for a 10 year owning experience, very few parts required to change and the car runs just fine.

Is Toyota or Vios really that bad? Really?
*
My direct answer will be - yes, Toyota is bad and not what I had expected. I hate my Vios on the first day I got the car. And yes, I should have bought Bezza if I know this is the quality it has. And yes, better option would be Honda City - too bad I wasn't aware and given much thought about that car.

I owned foreign cars and local cars as well. Vios is my first Japanese car. I had no major issue with foreign car so you won't see me bashing in the forum. And yes, I do bash my local cars and you can find me in other forum.

This forum has given me much info on problems by others and how to overcome them. Also opportunity to provide help as well.

If i'm such a liar, I won't be wasting my time typing tongue.gif .

It is true no car is perfect. But the issue is, how tolerance are we as the owner to own something below our expectations?

We are here to share info. Bashing also an info. It shows the owner's frustration. However, there are some people who simply bash because they hate the brand especially local cars. Even the car hasn't been launched, they already start bashing. It really annoyed to see people bashing something they didn't owned.

Everyone entitled to their own opinion. If you dislike the forum member, you can scroll and skip their posting, it's an easy task. You don't even have to write a letter.

If you see a bashing post, see how it was triggered. In the recent case, there was a member asking question. The answer may sound bashing to you but it answered the question. Please be open minded.

Most of us came here to seek answers and helping others. No point open up forum and bash everyday like has nothing to do. We are civilized people, respect each other. No need to attack and provoke people.

Vios better than bezza.
I own 2015 vios, no problem so far.
*
good for you. you are few lucky owners here who did not have any problems. as for the rest of us, we are still seeking solutions for current and forth coming problems.

of course vios is better tha bezza in your perspective. to me personally, depends in which category. in this case, i was talking about quality and qc. with all the problems i had, i took bezza in comparative. similarly, if bezza also got problem it's tolerable because of the price you paid compared to vios.

Few of us have similar problem. Ratling sound from dashboard, went to sc few time still no fix. Had to solve myself. Bird-view camera malfunction, need to waste time at sc and claim for warranty. Sound here and there, still no fix.

Lemon, I don't think so if so many.

I dont know why everybody saying vios and city got issue while there is not much issue from my end for both. Or perhaps, I dont consider those rattling sound (so far not yet appear) are not issues?
*

Myself started with local car. At first no ratling sound. After few years, can hear sound coming from here and there, it is expected. Got extra money, bought a foreign D segmen car. Sound-proof, well insulated and well padded, as anticipated. For missus, got a foreign B segmen car. Also not disappointing.

Never had Japanese car before. So i get Vios for daily commute for its fuel saving and long lasting engine. To my disappointment, day one already got sound here and there. So by now, you might understood my frustrations.

And also why i made comparison between vios and bezza. I just need fuel saving and reliable engine. Now you know..

My car still under warranty. If sc can do it, better let them do it.
*
yeah, don't want to mess with warranty. they will try and find any reason to void our warranty. each time we went for a service, sa will note down any additional accessories or any devices we installed.

no sure how the toyota rear cam works. still with no audio? may be i install one. not to solve tailgating problem that is, because i hardly kena...

main reason people tailgating you is because you didn't drive properly. i know because i do it sometimes. i don't give a damn if the front person installed a rear camera. i have my camera as well. see which camera prove who's at fault.

Yes, just let the SC do it since they have such official accessories anyway. Don't want to risk unnecessary right? Many years ago my friend hands itchy so installed sound system and his whole power system just died intermittently. Potong steam max...

QUOTE(yok70 @ Apr 16 2019, 03:52 AM)

3. The CVT
(a) How is it compare to Persona or other cars? Many complaints for lack of power, do you agree or disagree?
(b) What's your overall comments for the CVT performance?

4. The button to on/off the slippery protection feature.
(a) I'm sorry, I know this is not unique on Vios. May I know what's not good if on it? Because for safety purpose, on it should be the way to go, why is there a need to off it? Please teach me about it.

So far that's it.

Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.  notworthy.gif
*
I can comment on above questions only.

3. The CVT
CVT, meant for fuel saving not for performance. The system make use of variable pulley ratio. There is no real gear in CVT. In CVT, the only time you can feel the fix ratio is when you switch to manual shifting and when you press hard on accelerator.

4. Traction Control (Slippery control to your understanding)
ABS/TRC/VSC - features that manipulate braking system.

ABS - Anti-lock braking system
Activated when braking on slippery road

TRC - Traction Control
Activated when accelerating on slippery road

VSC - Vehicle Stability Control
Activated when do cornering to prevent skid.

Just leave them on. Turning them off does not improve performance but only lead to disaster.
