actually conventional AT also has the similar problem when your engine speed is hovering around shifting point
*
But when it comes to CVTs, is is very intrusive. Can really feel it jerking.

QUOTE(jasper91 @ Jul 18 2019, 04:50 PM)
is there any nice and affordable body kit for vios? affordable as in around rm600-700. or i am day dreaming for that price. bcos my 2016 vios looks so kosong without kit especially on the back bumper. and i assume theres no second hand kit right. any one know where can i order online if its at kl? cos im at sabah Kk.
*
You can find G-Power Sabah. They can do it for you.
I got my GX kit in Sarawak for RM1,199 in Dec '19 from a diff. supplier. Also sourcing from KL with paint.

Ppl bang 😅😅
Hit by 1 month old white Yaris.
His head damn strong. No damage at all.
*
On the contrary, I saw a new Yaris with a dented rear bootlid. Back is always softer than the front due to crumple purposes.

2018?

mine is 2017, ron95 per tank rm70+ - 400-420km city drive
*
Similar. 480km max (needle almost 95% at the bottom).
My colleague's stock 2014 model can only do 320km on a full tank. rclxub.gif and the peculiar thing is Dugong (NCP93) whihc is a tad lighter is using the same engine has better fc than the '14 model.

It's a chore to clean my solid white car which is parked under the sun 5 working days a week but what to do. A quarterly mild polish, monthly wax/sio2 coating is pretty much the way to go. I think my aftermarket kit is a tinge yellowish though. It's aftermarket after all. Using a lower grade lacquer I suppose.

I would choose silver but I had a silver car before and it's frankly boring laugh.gif.

If you are like to clean your car frequently, you can go for white.

But I think it's not easy to solve this issue.

This issue is a lot more prominent with coated cars (wax, ceramic etc) also since it flows mostly one way instead of dispersing flat without any kind of protection to the paint.

Give and take I guess.

Yesterday's 3 hours effort.

All retail level products:

After washing with P&G Wash and Wax (using microfibre mitts), got Turtlewax Polishing Compound to work on those set rain stains and road grime. Swirl marks also will be removed. Then onto Soft99 Cleaning & Coating soft wax with flourine additives for water beading longevity.

Love the wet look and slick finish.

Well done. . Usually how long duration this shining will last? Before you start to wash, compound, polish and wax again..
Meguiars 3in1 will lasted for 2++ months and very easy to sustain, using wet cloth wipe car body every week.

For side mirror, you may consider adding strip to make it elegant with white colour car.. https://s.lazada.com.my/s.ZTfrF
*
Using my previous Kiwami, it lasts 2+ months. Parked under the sun 5 working days a week.

I see.. Mine current battery still stock battery, 27 months up to date. Still can start the car, but those interior light or dashboard panel icon light start to dim off during crank start the car. So I think its time for new battery. Haha.
*
Did you check your last service invoice with the battery test result slip? What's the output? I suggest Amaron or Yokohama.

Oh yeah. Since I'm located in EM, the rep. said they'll liase with the techs to bring the ECU update diagnostics for me. Seems like nobody (owners or service center) cared to provide this update.

Hi sifus, anyone here driving Vios 2016 ver. while driving around 1k RPM or 10-60km/h will have some krock krock sound from engine. Is this normal?
*
QUOTE(hightechgadgets8 @ Sep 18 2019, 04:37 PM)
go SC check vbelt + tensioner

but wait, u sure its krock krock or like purring sound?
*
QUOTE(yannshan87 @ Sep 19 2019, 10:35 AM)
Don't really know how to describe the sound, but the sound only happens on slow drive. If I step on RPM 1k > the sound will go off, or above 60KM/H
*
QUOTE(cyandre82 @ Sep 19 2019, 08:22 PM)
Vios 2019 also have this problem, i thought it just ordinary day engine sound. Purring sound 20-60kmh.
I noticed the sound since few days got the car and below 1000km. Now it almost 7000km , and yet the car still have that sound.
Will make app with SC tomorrow
*
Does it jerk a bit too?
Pretty sure it's the CVT purring sound. I really dislike it. Cannot coast in peace during traffic. doh.gif
Not sure if there's anything you can do about it.

QUOTE(derick8860 @ Sep 24 2019, 04:26 PM)
laugh.gif first time see such hanging on rearview mirror one, but I'm looking for those that can hold my hp in upright position.

To me, I feel the dashboard of vios very hard to find a strategic area for hp holder purpose.

Thank you for your suggestion.  thumbsup.gif
*
You can try the magnetic type. I bought Baseus metal holder since 2015 and still ok. Just that your phone will have the metal garnish stuck on the back.

Your hope is to issue a complaint with SC and ask them for an update on the ECU/ECM unit.
Write up an email to them and wait for their feedback. They know everything.

I'm pending for their call as the equipment isn't available in my city.

Email them your plate number: customersupport@toyota.com.my

Im using Vios 3rd Gen with original tyres almost 3 years now and will replace new tyre end of this month.

Decide to buy CC6 tyre 195/55/15R but the ori tyre is 185/60/15 (CC5). Anyone is using tyre 195/55/15R now? How was it ya?

Thanks in advance

I hope you haven't bought CC6. sweat.gif

I saw very few blue color new Vios on the road, far less than other colors. And Toyota's commercials all pushing this blue color as the "signature color" of this new Vios.

I'm very interested to know what you guys think of this blue color. For me, I think it's high profile, easy to catch attention, but somehow "risky" as it sometimes looks "strange", but sometimes looks quite "interesting".  laugh.gif

If you like it buy it. No questions asked. biggrin.gif
But prepare to think why people are reluctant to buy this and Yaris' lemon green. It's striking and bright. biggrin.gif

Hi guys, want to ask about cvt jerking, mine is vios 2019 , sometimes when im slowing down around 10-20, got weird noise kruk kruk sound. its not always happen though. its the same feeling like car jerking plus with kruk kruk sound. I havent refer it to SC yet
*
The CVT is "gearing" down to the speed of the car. It's very annoying but it's normal. That's what more apparent from a CVT vs conventional 4/5-speed transmission.

Sorry there are too many pages on this topic.
Question: For Vios 2019, anyone replaced the headlamp bulb to led? Can replace for the turn signal too?
*
Refer to your manual for the bulb type, Yes you can change it to LEDs.

May I know your light is this shape?

‘Cos it’s difficult to get the correct height due to the spikes. Either can’t see far due to poor lighting and if have good good distance lighting than the right lamp spikes will shine the front car window & opposite cars will keep flashing at me.

Hope you can sent me the picture of your lighting.
*
Stock lights? It won't blind people. BUT if you have a full load of passengers, I suggest you to dial the knob up to 3/4. Else, if you're alone driving, 0 will suffice.
You can opt for high performance bulbs or a better quality LED replacement. Reflector types (I assume you're using J,E from the light pattern), have a lot of benefit from using good quality LED headlights. I am using 4300K (whiter, still yellowish) and it's good for both dry and rain.

Agreed on white color.
If you maintain well on super white color, it is super awesome..

Importantly, use premium wax, and premium tire gel to sustain its paint.

Major White color contrast well with black linings colour .. At night, white color is shining.. But, if any dirt arise, easily can spot it..

I don't know when but I think it's quite recent. My led bar doesn't light up anymore. I guess the module is broken. Thinking of claiming warranty for the module. 2017 model with newer engine.

Just share my experience, i encountered the same issue but claimed (warranty). According to them, the module in 2016/7 batch cars have quality issue.  And I already seen a few cars on the road hv the same issue... so is pretty normal. (Bad luck)

Try claim warranty when your DLR totally dead and tell them your concerned(wiring maybe)
