Hello guys

Test drove the CR-V and the Tiguan over the weekend and despite the better driving experience from the VW, am currently leaning towards the Honda for its safety features and tech.

Just wondering, noted that those who have bought the car don't go for the Honda authorised tints. Any reason why?

I've used Ecotint on all my cars and have only positive things to say so am leaning towards that if I decide to get the CR-V.

Cheers

Nice. Thanks for your reply.

Any reason you didn't go for the Premium 6+ (the top of the line)?

I think Ray Berrier 4+ is good enough for me, beside that i heard 6mil film might damage the power windows in long term

Cheers Bro. Will take that into consideration once I firm up my car purchase.

Hello again guys.

After months of deliberation, looks like I'll be going for a CR-V as my next vehicle (TC-P model).

Appreciate if you guys have any good leads on Honda centres that offer good discounts/packages. So far, the only one I've been to (Tenaga Setia at PJ) is offering a RM6k to RM7k discount.

Any other centres can offer better deals? Thanks and appreciate it.

Quite a number of us booked ours with Honda Semenyih (SAG Ultimate). For year end promo, I think they can offer up to 7k or 7.5k. Pm me if you need the contacts

Anyone seen this before?

Costs RM2,880. Quite interested since it's from Honda.

Decided on the 2.0 spec. Fastest I can get the car is end of this month.

Any advice on the tint? Been reading this thread. Looks like most ppl did the tint outside.

FYI, I opted for Ecotint.

Honda are giving a 5 year tint warranty and you can include the tint in your vehicle price. Also, didn't want the hassle of having to driving the car to the tint shop, picking it up later, etc.

Hello everyone

Just an update. Received my Obsidian Blue TC-P last week and have been enjoying it so far. Appreciate the updates on this thread and I'll post from time to time my observations on the CR-V.

I'm just annoyed that with all the technology, there's no way to have navigation on the CR-V and I have to resort to Waze/Google Maps on my phone.

Congrats.. Yes, please do update.. As for navi, even if it came equipped, theirs will be vastly sub-par compared to Goggle Maps or Waze. Car supports AA & CarPlay, best to use it.
Appreciate the feedback. I'm a devoted Android head so it sucks that AA is not supported in Malaysia yet. Guess I'll just have to make do and hope that AA comes to our shores soon.

Just an observation, I find myself loving the ACC and brake hold functions far too much. I'm actually afraid I won't be able to adjust to other cars after this.

Anyways, quick question ... anyone knows is it possible to scan (i.e. go forward or backwards) a song on the audio player?

Ahh, another Android-head  cheers.gif ... Even though AA isn't officially supported, you can still use it. Just download and install the AA app on your mobile and plug in, both Waze & Google Maps works properly. Zero hackery involved. Yeah, the ACC & auto-brake hold are life-changing, makes driving on long journeys less tiring. Of course, one has to stay alert and ready to take over in case of a malfunction, it's still software after all & glitches can happen..

Awesome ... just downloaded and installed AA. Actually quite trouble free to install. Really can't wait to get off work to try it later.

You mentioned plug in ... I've got a USB cable so that's no issue but can't you use bluetooth to connect though?

Nope, has to be cable-connected. Current tech won't allow for smooth usage over wireless connections especially Bluetooth.. Let's think about it, we still experience hiccups just using calls and audio function over Bluetooth.. Imagine the added data transfers that's required with AA tech.. Then there's battery drainage. At least, while connected, the phone also gets charged. What I advice is to actually get a cheap but capable Android phone and use it permanently for in-car usage. Can also double as a cheap GPS tracker too.

Fair enough. Tried it yesterday and it was awesome.

Please install AA and use it on your car. It was really easy to install ... a doofus like me managed it and so can you.

Useless discovery of the day:

The head unit can read movie files. But you can only watch shows while the vehicle is stationary.

Haha.. It's a safety concern.. I have read it can be disabled.. Can't remember how, some light hackery involved though.

Thought as such. Insurance will be a bitch to claim as well if they found out you hacked something.

Thanks for the link. I don't have the guts/skill to do it though.
