Sifu Sifu sekalian, what specs do you think the best for weekends and balik kampung use only? V specs or RS better? Got petrol claim for weekdays so RS seems not so suitable for my case..Any advice?

Then V spec lor if can claim petrol since it is over 14K difference.

However buying RS is not about petrol saving only. It is more about full specs, looks and most importantly, driving refinement. There is a difference in daily drive of RS and V. The smoother acceleration of RS, the much lower noise of RS drive especially when running in EV Mode gives quite a different refinement in driving experience turbo engine don't have. They are so similar in many ways but yet during daily drive, actually got different wan.

Even travelling on highway, if you don't speed above 110, it can go EV mode lots of time. EV mode = smoother acceleration and low or no engine noise. RS tyre comes with resonator to further lower road noise and RS looks better. So is that all worth 14K extra for RS, you can decide for yourself.

I based this on test drive for both E spec and RS....and my own experience in City eHev vs Petrol (that one daily drive coz I have eHev). It is only when you drive it daily will you feel the difference in driving refinement. They are so similar yet somehow substantially different (for the better, somehow more smoother like butter when accelerating, EV silence is superb even when engine turned on to charge) when compared with petrol variant. The drivetrain is entirely different, Petrol CVT vs eHev e-CVT which is essential electrical motor.

No action on the car accelerator pedal seems wasted, if you accelerate, it will charge the battery, if you lift foot off pedal or brake, it will charge the battery. Travelling on highway, it will charge the battery. When you slow down to below 110, sometimes, it switched to EV, silent drive (besides road noise, thats that, cannot avoid).

However from financial point of view, if you don't drive a lot, it is a waste to use the much higher price RS but if you look from perspective of comfort, refinement without financial impact, then it is really not a waste.

How about the resale value? Perhaps plan for 10 years ownership for this new car. Currently I owned the Civic FC 2017 1.5 TC, used to be daily ride but no more now, ytd mileage 1-2k km only. blush.gif . Planning to switch to this CR-V. Feel RS much better with Bose thingy etc.. But for weekends + balik kampung, maybe 1 year only 5k mileage. So this is the dilemma now doh.gif Thinking of recon Toyota Harrier also. But again, used car.. Cannot so tahan eye sore of the possible scratches etc

My friend keen to buy V or RS specs. SA advised him for the E specs. Better discount and free service …. Anyone also the same?
