I'm using Trapo for all my cars and recommended it to countless family members and friends. Really effective and easy to clean. The only downside is they can be quite pricey.
*
checked the price at the website. still cheaper than yuma though.

i use yuma which is very long lasting.

Trapo looks good as advertised when it's clean, but will any dirt or sand be visible once it's dirty? Those coil matt can hide those unsighty dirts though.
*
ya, coil mat always looks clean.....

QUOTE(tankiasu @ Aug 4 2017, 12:45 PM)
I've just checked out the bodykit and running boards for the previous CRV Gen 4 in order to have a rough estimate for this new CRV ones in the future. The bodykit is around RM1700 to 2200. While the running board varies between RM400 to 700. So basically the ones from Honda is around double the prices outside. Not very sure about the differences in quality though.
*
I got a quote of the running boards for 1.3k (after market) which is half the price of the ori one from honda.

the aero front bumper will have a different set of DRL which is nicer. if outside can do the same with half the price, can consider. but to me, anything that need to do like that and need painting, i prefer to do it in honda.

Is the running board you referred is the one near the door frame with running lights? I ordered  with my SA at RM 736
*
not that one. that one is called illuminated side step. the running board is the long piece board at both sides. total 2 pieces.

And we were discussing about Trapo and one guy posted that he put his coil mat above the one that came with the CRV. Probably not a good idea. In the manual, it says that additional mat will mess up with the sensors(!??)
*
where did it mention about messing up the sensor? what sensor?

QUOTE(belfong @ Aug 8 2017, 04:50 PM)
My uneducated judgement in terms of fuel consumption: I have driven about 350km so far and the fuel tank went down by 60%. Full tank is about 53 litres according to the manual. So 60% of 53 litres is 32 litres which is around 11km/litre.. Good or bad?... is that consistent with other owners?
*
probably easier if you just drive until the next refuel. then you can see how much it cost you to refuel and how much mileage done. then, you will have the number.

Others conti car normally service at 10K or 6 months, whichever come first.
The longest one as I know like Benz or VW, 12K-15K or 1 years, whichever come first.

To my understanding, TCP service interval could be A-AB-A-AB, in which sometime B could be done with A.
Was told by SA that Service A only do engine oil change without changing the oil filter while B changes both.
So basically 10K service interval is BS, Honda used to be 5K/3 months interval back then and I don't see any different this time around.
*
One SA told me, the Service A is to top up engine oil, not change. I am not sure how true is it.

Funny thing - I swear I didn't see this blinking red light at the dashboard for the past 3 weeks but I saw it today! Hmmmm... probably an indication the car is locked and armed with alarm (or not since I didn't install any alarm)... anyone notice this or it escaped you as well?
*
In the quick guide. it says the led is for Alarm System Indicator. The car comes with alarm system with immobilizer (i believe)

May be can try, force open and see got siren goes off or not.

Force open means, arm it with alarm, and use key to open the door.

Not use ply to force open the door ya, it would be destructive  tongue.gif
*
or wind down the windor, arm it, manually unlock and open door..... how about that?

Someone said upthread about subscribing to Honda Connex service. That's the immobilizer?
*
if i am not wrong, for immobilizer, your car key has a chip in order to start the car. says, someone dupe your key (the metal key), still cant start ur car if u lock ur car with the alarm system as the immobilizer is engaged.

as the Connex service, nothing more than a gps tracker and the accompanying service.

tested. arm the car, open the driver side's door with key and the alarm goes off......no siren. it's using the horn.
