Nice. Loud enough

But the HRV horn is meaner. Thinking of changing it to HRV horn when I get my car. Crv uses twin horn or single?

Collected my car last Tuesday. Going to share my experiences a little so far with my ride as I noticed my comments above about the quality.

1. Collected the car on Tuesday - during inspection, noticed a tiny scratch mark near the petrol cap but other than that all were fine

2. Hibernate at home whole day as I will be sending the car for coating on Thursday

3. Drove all the way from Seremban to Shah Alam (Ceramic Pro Malaysia) for coating. Highway drive (all ECO mode till date) all smooth and no rattling sound at all (only slightly less than 110km/h) Underpowered, slightly most likely due to the ECO mode but no issue for me (new car, sure sayang a bit and drive like Uncle)

4. Ceramic Pro folks managed to find 2 more spots that I have missed during inspection - swirl mark on the roof (can't be removed / covered completely after wax) and a tiny spot near the drive side mirror (paint chipped but after wax hardly noticed) Great work by Ceramic Pro Team. Definitely can felt the instant boost of the materials quality both internal and external now

5. During the drive back to Seremban, heavy thunderstorm (no kidding - Thursday evening) Hardly can see the car in front along ELITE highway. But the drive was smooth (~70km/h) Quiet and does not felt like the rain dropped on zinc bumbung (I recalled someone commented this earlier)

6. Drove to Malacca as well over the weekend. This time I took the trunk road (Pedas/Linggi) to test out the narrow and winding road. Car performed great without any major issues. Some sharp turns hardly need to brake much. Also hardly hear anything in the cabin - sound proof is great.

7. Pump Shell VPower on Thursday (1 trip to KL and 1 trip to Malacca) just around half tank now with near 400KM left to drive, not too bad I guess

Complaints so far
-------------------
1. Too many gaps around the external body. Between the parts / lights. Hard to reach when wiping the water and insects tend to stuck in between the gaps

2. Cheap car plate from Honda (felt as if it will peel off anytime soon)

3. Brake pad is slightly loud when release but nothing major

Just some honest review so far based on the car I had now. I wanted to comment all down to pure luck but obviously Honda may need to improve on the build quality but well I guess that's how it is now for majority of businesses? No matter how much we pay we still may get some bad apples - my 2 cents

Congrat on your new car. How much is the coating? How long can the coating last? Any special care ? I intend to coat my car when i get my car.

Not sure they have October promo (maybe Deepavali promo) I got mine last month slightly more than 3k (both internal and external) with 5 years warranty. No maintenance needed and it is a permanent coating. Any new parts / accidents they will work it out for you FOC. Check out their FB page (Ceramic Pro Malaysia), Ben is really helpful

Can u snap a few photo on your ride inside and out . I wanted to see the coating detailing they done on your car.

Is 2.0 a good buy? Any advice?
*
If u don't mind the power, it's a good buy. U get every thing except auto viper n front sensor if compare to 1.5tc. The power adequate for town use. If overtaking under power a bit. U get 17 inch rim with a different pattern compare to 18 inch the 1.5tc have.

Ceramic Pro or 3M Hypershield Coating, which one better for CRV?
*
Ceramic pro highly recommended. So, are u going with 2.0 ?

went for Ceramic Pro. no regret so far. service is very good.

Did you guys tested your rear fog light? Went to first service and been told by Honda that only the driver side rear fog light is functional, the other one is not (just a dummy) wth? lol they said it is similar to HRV  sweat.gif
*
Yes, only 1 side got light. Law require minimum 1 side. Honda save money. Ours right hand drive should be on the right. If left hand drive, its on the left. It depends on the manufacture of the cars, some one side others boths. Look at toyota, one side prius, hilux. Both camry, vios.

I booked the 2.0L, now your comment making me feel a bit concerned. Tested with latest Mitsubishi Outlander CKD 2.0, feels that almost the same, that’s why I opt for CRV 2.0L
*
Don't worry, its a great car with space and spec. If u are not the one who always fight for the place in front of u, the power is adequate. If u have doubt test drive it again. In this 2.0 catagory the CX5 have more powerful engine but u got kosong spec and sacrifice space.

Err, what type of news are you expecting? I think they are still focused on selling the latest models.
*
Err, 3 row seat AWD with sensing. Maybe upgrade with things they left out, eg sunvisor lamp, speed auto lock, remote start, kick sensor for the boot, memory seats, sub woofer ? Myvi can offer so much, why can't honda?

Any solution to put front sensor without drill holes and void warranty, because CRV 2.0L doesn’t come with front sensor.
*
I suggest u go back to the sc to ask for the original front sensor because it's is integrated in to the system head unit and won't void warranty but it's expensive. Worth it because it won't mess up ur original system and wiring too.

I thought the storage tank is 0-20w for na engine. The turbo must use 0-30w for more protection from the bottle?

Good morning, all. smile.gif
Xtrail looks is quite nice. But I removed from my list due to two airbags only and the price about the same as crv.
Agree on the hrv height. My col who bought the hrv also complained it is quite bumpy. Discarded the hrv from my list just because I liked the crv better.  laugh.gif

Nevertheless, I’d be keen to know what’s the hrv facelift features for 2018.
*
For the hrv if u replace softer tire like Michelin can make it less bumpy. Heard that facelift hrv come with sensing package.

hi, i am currently driving a gen3 crv FL(2011) with 170k km. Recently i noticed some knocking sound coming from the rear wheel at speed above 70km/h. The sound is more audible when driving on smooth roads. The sound is similar to tyre punctured but I checked all tyres are they are normal. Sent to honda for inspection but the se couldnt find the source of the sound. Can I seek advice from any drivers of crv if any of you have experienced knocking sound as well.
*
Have u check the wheel bearing?

I have a few hondas too. Those days the 6th gen so4 civic were rock solid. I have run 300k out of it and the only thing i change is suspension component. Everything like brand new when i sold it althought the car is under sun n rain. Hope honda tighten up their QC before it loses more customer.

If u have the budget to stretch to 200k , y don't u take a look of the rav 4. With a tnga platform, it's a driver's car. The chassis is study n solid. It absorbs the bump quite well n it doesn't slump when taking corners. The dynamic force engine very responds n got lot of torque on low rpm. But with that kind of money, lot with go with the BMW X1 which cost the same. The rav 4 is a keep car while the BMW u got the badge. If u all gonna buy this generation model buy it because next gen model all gonna hit 200k in this segment unless u downgrade.

My opinion go with the crv. It got lot of space. VW got a lot of problem in the long run. Yes it is fun to drive but with higher maintenance fees. If u are a keeper , then go with the crv. If not u can try the Tiguan. Set aside the rv.

My wife suka...

Me all heart on Tiguan 1.4 all the way. The dsg gearbox really make fun of Driving. The feeling is so much solid and powerful vs the 1.5t

Anyway, when talk car , technology to women, they don understand. They only know Honda - reliable, not so much maintenance and good rv...VW - famous with warranty , quality, lousy service centre..so I got no choice to take up the crv...

Overall, I do like the big spacious of crv...

Update : loan approved. 2.21% Pbe,7 years...

So u go with the 1.5 tc instead of the 2.0 ?
