my current speed , WIFI = i150 , mobile network = digi
it might be different selecting the different speed test server.
[attachmentid=9351387]

so far my best speed is 65.34down and 32.05up
it may depending on what time u test ... u can get fast at midnight , like day time at week days ok also . but when comes to week end ... neeeh ... the speed average can get only around 10mb up/down.
[attachmentid=9351397]

but still way better than noting since my new place dont have unify or any cable broadband yet.

plan to get a mid range 4G router ... any 1 using Huawei B310s-22?
is it ok and stable?>

my current setup is funny 1 ... E5577 mobi + a TP link AP to share the whole house.

just why?

why not use the Rpi as the router?
u can get OpenWRT on it.. brows.gif
or running it on raspbian..

pair it with a good wifi dongle.. ur good to go..

Networking performance on Rpi is terrible. Not recommended to use as a router.

The Ethernet port is just 100/10
*
For modem usage, its adequate..
Well... hilink modems are usb-net device..

So, mobifi->pi via usb
Pi->usb wifi dongle in AP Mode..

No ethernet port usage..
Working with current 4G speed, 100Mbps is more than enough..

Im doing like this …mifi (usb as eth1) > pi (as router -DHPC yes+ as WAN source through LAN port) > broadband WIFI router.

So far ok just i dont wan the mifi all the while charging the battery.
*
U can eliminate the wifi router by connecting a wifi donglento the pi and setting it as master ap..

Why not buy a usb lte modem? The battery will last a year tops.. like mine.. now its all bloated..

You can subscribe DiGI Infinite 150 at DiGi Center too.
But must autopay every month.

If subscribe online, not required to autopay...

Make your choice...
*
I just did.. the cs asked if i wanted to do autopay.. i got to choose..

digi is unstable, almost a month near my town area still unsolved. i'm lazy to report...

b3 channel some area is missing/undetect.
b7 channel is running in some area so max speed is not good compared b3.

maybe they are testing to run LTE-A soon. not sure how long is gonna be.

my house use,
ping sometimes is high reach 100+ms to digi.
speed not as fast as previous but usable got 20mbps.
open speedtest felt it's slow to detect the server to test.

B7 is better for top speed than B3.. higher frequency=bigger capacity.. but lower penetration..

Done purchase, now waiting it arrival. smile.gif Hope this DiGi Infinity 150 can replace my slow Streamyx 4 MB. TM don't allowed me to apply Home UniFi just because stay at Shop lot. Fine. I will divorce you very soon! My area got 4G LTE-A, wonder what speed it can get, I use DiGi before I rememeber it is under 80 mbps, it can't as high like my current Maxis which is 150 mbps but 80 mbps is fine for me already, I just need to use it for streaming my NetFlix 4K HDR in TV or download Steam Games. That it. smile.gif

hola, just #potongstreamyx today and hop to digi infinite 150
been testing for few weekend the past months to test out coverage and today finally made the decision to switch.

manage to hit 70+mbps with the external mimo antenna pointed north and placed just bellow the attic, but have to lay new cat6 and power sockets to place the LTE modem in the coming weeks.

temporary place the modem with the external antenna pointed south in another room, 3Bar 4G+ 40mbps not the fastest but still 10x of my streamyx speed for RM10 extra rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

went setup port forward and dmz but no avail, seems like digi is running NAT based IP after google around. Anyone manage to get a public IP from digi success?
*
QUOTE(cheque90 @ Dec 18 2017, 08:48 PM)
DiGi only provide private ip for ipv4 based ip, so say goodbye to port forwarding unless they roll out ipv6 to their customers.

now cracking head, cant access my home server remotely without going through vpn bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif  bangwall.gif

Thats one of the cons of using mobile data..
The only Mobile ISP i know where u can request a static public ip is Maxis..

Ipv6 is out.. depends on your router or phone..
And ipv6 will wreak havoc with kodi boxes utilising openload.. thevideo.. videoshare..

Every device on a ipv6 router/hotspot will get its own ip address.. so no pairing..

How is it cat4 but speed up to cat6.. its either cat6 or not..

That 300mbps is the wifi transmission speed..

The page clearly state cat4.. and 150mbps..

So after those disappointing days with TM Streamyx 4 Mbps , I'm going to change to Digi Infinite 150 , and I need help to pick which modem / router is the best for my use case .

My home is a apartment unit at Persiaran Sri Pinang , as the screenshot of this coverage map , it's exactly at the bubble pointer.

Which router should I get , as it's replacing my streamyx as a *home wifi* use case, I have a home phone that I want to use with the unlimited calls of the plan. I think it's also better to have 5Ghz band as there's a lot of wifi networks around my apartment.

Test out prepaid first.. if there is other apartment and high rise around u, you'll get worse service than streamyx.. even worsenif ur living on higher floors..

yeah.. been walking ard house with the router.. i live in 9th level.. i think the network is congested. peak hours cannot do anything.. trying my luck to buy the anteanna. hopefully give me something
*
I think anything over 5 level up are not mobile signal friendly..
Unless the building has a repeater..

1st and 2nd might be better.. provided not many other building obstructing..
