Seriously I think Huawei E5186s-22a is overated. I'm perfectly happy now with Huawei B310As-852. Way cheaper than 5186, no carrier aggregation. But can connect to LTE band 3/7 and 8.

Consistently at least 20Mbps. It's nothing to shout about, but more than enough for average user like me.

Hi all, need some suggestion.

I am currently umobile 28 (xiaomi redmi note 3), webe broadband (Huawei e5377) user.

Recently webe everyday disconnect and some time slow internet speed, so I am thinking to switch to Digi.

However, I am torn between these combo, hope you guys could enlight me.

1. Cutting umobile and webe, use digi infinite to tether to my laptop. Cost wise jump from RM90/month to RM150/month. I can try to sell my huawei modem.

2. Cutting webe, use digi infinite in huawei modem alongside with umobil. Cost jump from RM90/month to RM180/month. Good combination but cost wise was a bit of stretch.

On top of this 2 combo, I still have streamyx 1mbps, stable but turtle speed.

Please share ur 2 cents.
*
Digi Ambassador Broadband RM70 + Digi Ambassador RM38. Total RM108. That's the combo I'm using now. smile.gif. Just make sure Digi network in your place is okay though.

However, Digi Ambassador only provides 50GB internet (+ 50GB youtube), and Ambassador RM38 3GB internet and unlimited call. Should you use more than 50GB, there's no other choice but to go for Digi Infinite 150 or Unifi/Maxis Fibre.

saw the last month bill for my i50. im using data around 100gb. is there any recommendation on any other package? or i just stay with the current plan?
*
No other package is suitable for you then. nod.gif Just stay with Infinite 150 IMHO. I also used around 100GB, but plenty of data used for watching Youtube videos. So Ambassador 70 is enough for me.

May i ask anyone here owned the huawei b310s-22 and is it able to use the huawei e5186s tool to lock the LTE band?Planned to get new modem that able to detect and lock band & tower that less congested when night time..
*
I use Huawei B310as-852, and yes it's possible to use 5186 tool to lock the band. Should be the same for B310s-22 I suppose.

Just wider 4G coverage. But speed up to 20Mbps only. Not faster than 4G+ speed.

Same like webe 850Mhz & Digi 900Mhz. Speed max 20Mbps. sad.gif
*
Yeah, speed wise is so so only. I just set my B310 router to auto. Much faster than locking on band 8. Usually consistently more than 20mbps, which is more than enough for me.

If I manage to get the E5186s-22a for RM600 including shipping now, is it worth it?

If your area has LTE-A, go for it. If not, better just stick to cheaper routers.

Better buy a digi prepaid and check with your phone. Coverage map on website may not be accurate.

A little bit late, sorry for that, but where can i buy the cheapest CPE locally? i dont read chinese to buy from taobao..using google translate is also kinda hard especially when it came to shipping as the address, city, country all in chinese..i believe that b310 is the cheapest and have RJ11 port right?
*
Yes, indeed. Try to search at lazada/lelong/mudah/11 Street. The price is about RM350-400. Go for B310s-22, as that supports the 2G/3G as well which you would need to make calls.

Dear all,
i have few questions to ask;
1) do i need to upgrade firmware manually via webgui? current version is 21.302.01.00.00. my E5186s-22a is with huawei logo. If yes, should i download Bv7R2C0update_21306.01.00.00-original huawei.gz.bin or Bv7R2C0update_21.316.01.00.07.gz.bin?

2) i have changed google DNS and write to API using tool, how to check whether E5186s-22a is using google DNS or getting DNS from digi?

3) do i need to set Network mode to 4G in order to use phone which connected to E5186s-22a RJ11 port?

sorry...ask a lot questions.. [attachmentid=8995471][attachmentid=8995491][attachmentid=8995492][attachmentid=8995511]
*
You should set network mode to auto, as when you call, the network would change from 4G to 3G.

Hi. May I know what particular model for B315 that is compatible with digi i150? B315-852 or B315-936? Thank you
*
There's no b315—852. Do you mean b310as-852?

For B315, there are three sub models.

B315s-22 : Supports B3/B7/B8
B315s-607: Supports B3/B7/B8
B315s-936: only supports band 3
B315s-608: doesn't supports digi lte bands.

As digi lte network runs on band 3/7/8, your best bet would be either B315s-22 and B315s–607.

However if u want to use the router for phone call as well, I think only b315s-22 support digi 2G/3G frequencies.

I've been researching on bb100 & i150, correct me I'm wrong.

i150
+unlimited speed & tether
-p2p capped @ 64kbps (8*60*60*24 = 691MB per day)
-no public IP, can't access ur router remotely
-expensive (RM960++ yearly diff compare with bb70 amba)

bb100
+cheap, and cheaper after applying for ambassador
+with public IP
+after exceeded quota, you still have 300kbps
-limited fast speed internet (40gb base quota + 60gb stream free/vod)
-if tether heavily, fast speed internet will be depleted within days.
*
For BB100, after exceeding quota, there's no Internet at all. You need to buy Add-Ons.

Hi guys. I've just registered Digi Infinite 150 and waiting for the sim card. Quick question. Does anyone been using Huawei Cube E5180? Is it compatible and a good modem router? The seller states that it is compatible but I just curious. XD
*
Both Huawei E5180s-22 and Huawei E5180s-610 support band 3 and 7. So it's compatible with Digi. But you won't be able to connect to Band 8, which digi has begun to activate since the past few months.

Thanks for the info bro. I don't even know what is this band thing. Can you recommend me which one is the best for Digi now? Anyone?

Edited:
Btw I found out that the description on Huawei Cube E5180 found here:
http://www.lazada.com.my/huawei-e5180-4g-l...27704.html?ff=1
shows that 3G BAND: DC-HSPA+/HSPA+/HSPA/UMTS: 2100/900 MHz. Does it mean this one support band 8 which is 900Mhz that has been implement on Digi few months ago or am I missing something?

Edited again:
Just asked my friend that love to play with this radio thing. Waiting for his answer.
*
Here's a good website to know which router support which band https://www.4gltemall.com/huawei-e5180-4g-l...cpe-router.html

On the first page, there's a list of routers that support Digi.

Routers have different bands for LTE, HSDPA, 3G and 2G. So you need to look at the exact spec of the routers. Best to find it directly from the brand website.

In this case, E5180 does supports 900mhz 3G/HSDPA, but it doesn't support 900Mhz on LTE.

In short, google is your best friend, mate

Just buy a CAT4 modem is enough la. CAT6 is too expensive. Unless you are adamant to get LTE-A speed all the time.

I think one of the cheapest CAT 4 routers with RJ11 phone port is B310s-22.

Dont need RJ11 port? go for B310as-852. Cheaper price too.

I'm personally using B310as-852.

Guys, is there any different HUAWEI B315S-22 MODEM with Maxis logo and the Original HUAWEI B315S-22 MODEM without other operator logo?
No luck, Digi perform really bad in my area (Only can get around 2mbps at peak hours).

Malaysian telcos don't practise sim locking on phones or other devices like routers or modems. Branded as maxis or unbranded. They all should be the same.
