QUOTE(cicak.fakir @ Sep 13 2018, 08:53 AM) the SIM, in my understanding, is about identifying your subscription to the network. itself is not about selecting which network or band it wants to attach itself to - that's the job of device. i think prosibu here talks about what happen when we lock ban. both of you are actually is, but from different perspective.locking band to lte only does means sim are not 3g capable (at the time of lock) are which comes to your point, "when you lock band, you prevent the DEVICE from switching" similarly means sim cannot handover 4g to 3g when need arise. so chill guys. |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 13 2018, 12:05 PM) Again why need to switch to 3g for Volte? That defeat the purpose of Volte. Why can't you guys talk in more sensible and logical way? yes. no need 3g if volte avail. it does feels weird if i read prosibu words when comparing volte-3g and lte-3g.QUOTE(cicak.fakir @ Sep 12 2018, 08:08 PM) Voice-Over-LTE. if device does not support VoLTE, then it needs to step down to 3G to make and receive voice call. if you lock band to 4G - preventing it from stepping down - but device itself does not support VoLTE, .... cicak words very clear in this. |

QUOTE(cicak.fakir @ Sep 13 2018, 06:02 PM) just forget about volte lah. i try b618 to phone (2g lock, volte disabled) = successother requirement - device of both caller and receiver must be volte-enabled - thus, both caller must also be inside LTE network (else, how to be "over-LTE") i try phone (2g lock, volte disabled) to b618 = success i try b618 to landline = success i try landline to b618 = success |

QUOTE(prosibu @ Sep 13 2018, 09:20 PM) Volte user can call to anyone on earth no matter receiver is volte or no. then cicak is wrong lah.And same, anyone can call volte user without drop to 3g too For malaysia, to archive crystal HD voice quality, Volte calls to volte within same operator is a must QUOTE(tympg @ Sep 13 2018, 09:27 PM) By your logic, users cannot make calls on Yes 4G network because there is no 3G/2G network to fall back on. maybe..just maybe there are special cases? like certain network or device require this? |

QUOTE(cicak.fakir @ Sep 13 2018, 10:06 PM) i was googling further when gogo2 said he couldnt get volte working when locked. i thought volte is separate band than whatever band the device was locked to. no luck on the band thing. i think prior to volte intro memang need both side volte. iinm-lah. but it somehow change later on.it wasnt logical, but even us's telco sites mentioned it requires both side to be volte. my phone supports volte, but i'm not bothered to validate. |
