i just port to digi infinite 150 few days ago, my signal is very unstable the highest can goes up to 3 bar and lowest is 1 bar. Highest speed i can get is 7mb/s and lowest is <1mb/s. I'm currently using TPLink M7350 Mifi. I tried putting it near the window but still got the same results. Will changing to a modem router improve my signal strength??
*
My experience tells me that the bigger 'home LTE gateway' usually can receive better signal. I guess it's due to higher power gain (since it's power source is directly from adapter, so why not?).

Digi should upgrade more tower rather than introduce LTE A...
i feel their tower is congested...
Maxis still on LTE yet the speed is fast and stable
*
This is why they introduce LTE-A to ease the congestion.

it still congested in my area.
it hardly achieve more than 20mbps and not stable...sometime drop below 5mbps even on LTE A
*
So I assume you're using a LTE-A capable device?
Well I think you have to sync up your expectation with Digi. If i am not wrong, the quality assurance set by them is 10mbps for 80% of the connected time as I read from some recent press release (you have to check with them personally for more accurate information).
But I do acknowledge that sometimes at the fringe of the coverage area, your phone will tend to jump between 3G and 4G.

It not about the speed.
It about how satisfied you with the service provide at home.

Major taman home easily get congest because too many people there. But, i think Malaysia internet infrastructure will upgrade every year. Right now 10mbps already more than enough. smile.gif
*
It depends on the direction of the telco.
Take a look at Umobile, the network is like forever 3G.

hotspot=40-50mbps drop speed sometime 4mb-5mb download idm *without running anything at bacground
thethering=70-90mbps speed stable 7-9mbps *without running anything at bacground

ayam just use z3 sony
*
It would depend on the connection from domestic to the particular service/server too. Let's say you have 10mbps bandwidth from your mobile to ISP, and from ISP there is only 1mbps bandwidth to yahoo, then the speed will still stick to 1mbps at best. Of course the more people accessing the particular service (yahoo in this case for example), the slower it get despite that you have a lot of bandwidth to your local ISP.

Digi has no plan to do CA on band 8. I already asked and the reason they gave was other Telcos hv no such plan too i.e. this is not common. So that put off my plan to purchase router with 3 bands CA capability.
*
I guess not. The main purpose of band 8 in Digi is only to solve the indoor cellular coverage as well as to cover more area for rural places. Plus the allocated bandwidth for band 8 for Digi is merely 5Mhz. It’s really not enough for super speed use.

I'm at Shah Alam, seksyen 22 nearby MSU there. The connection was great around 5-7pm then after 8pm everything went haywire.

I was playing RO and it was fine with bearable lag but once 8pm, I can't move and website can't even load. Try plugging LAN to SmartTv and watch Netflix, it can load HD so I really don't know whats wrong.

Subscribe to this plan as temporary solutions for fibre to come into the new building, seems like its gonna be hellish for coming months.
*
You must know that while Digi is providing the internet to you, but it does not mean the speed is consistent across services. For example, there might be only 10mbps downlink rate from Digi to oversea server for a gaming service although your local downlink can be more than 40-50mbps. That particular ‘pipe’ to the service might be congested because a lot of people in the network are competing for it. And if the service (like Netflix) hosts its content server or service in Malaysia, then you will be able to enjoy much better speed (but also subject to the number of users to use it at the same time).

That really sucks and very irresponsible on their end as a service provider. Hopefully the complaints to SKMM carry weight and DiGi is forced to upgrade their network to accommodate the influx of new users or face the consequences of being fined.

Streamyx or Unifi is more stable.

Infinite is for single user because you only get 1mbps at night time. At least Streamyx is 8mbps. Streamyx is 8 times faster than Infinite plan.
*
The 1mbps claim is for real or it’s simply due to congestion or subject to sharping due to fair usage policy?

The speedtest and fast.com very slow, only 3-5Mbps. But watch youtube can > 10Mbps...
*
Maybe it’s slow to some servers only. You try to do a Speedtest against the Digi server.

Is it possible to change NAT for B618?
*
What you would like to do with the NAT?
As far as I know all terminals connected to Digi’s LTE network is already NAT-ed at its level and each will be given private IP.

i just move to new house, no unifi around. so i decide to buy infinite 150 to use for family members.

my question is what device should i buy? MiFi or Modem Router? mifi may be good option with its mobility feature.
*
A dedicated cellular modem router will be better. Mifi usually can not stand the stress of long hour usage.

Don't believe what those CS helpline or live chat. OUTAGE/DISTURBANCE or MAINTENANCE or UPGRADE is just their practice to tell customers.
Waiting n waiting for weeks/months, the end result is that your location is far from the cell tower. NOT SURE, there is really any maintenance or outage.

This Digi Infinite plan is ONLY BEST for those who live near the Digi Cell Tower. Even living in the same "Taman".
e.g. = your friend live a few block away from your house : he could get 80mpbs DL/15mpbs UL (not congested) - feel less congested,
whereas you only get 30mbps DL/10mbps UL (not congested) - you will notice the congestion very badly.
*
Then what’s the performance you want? Wireless internet is never consistent and you can’t just label it as congestion just because the speed is not up to your desire.

4G+ Signal does NOT mean better speed on Digi network. Just like my location, upgraded to 4G+ signal, yet the speed is still same. Congestion is very noticeable. Coming this Raya should be much worst  cry.gif .
Yeah, I am NOT getting the speed like others, I just hope Digi would be comparable to this new unifi mobile at least consistently around 10-20mbps and PING is lower.
BTW, i found out that ONLY ON Digi network that this ”Ookla speedtest app” shows unusual high speed even during congested time.
Tested with Maxis One, Celcom prepaid, u mobile, & unifi mobile, these would show actual speed.
*
How do you conclude it’s a congestion? Usually the Speedtest is just testing against the local server (most of the time) and if the service you’re accessing is hosted at overseas (assumes there is no co-located content served locally or regionally), most likely the outward link is the bottleneck.

Maybe, it's not congestion as you said. Therefore, I wish you could explain so I know the reason why the ookla speedtest APP is getting higher speed (only on Digi network).
Today is Sunday, my location is very slow.
If my location is really getting speed of the Ookla (constantly at 15-30mbps), I'm very satisfied.
The last two pic tested with another xiaomi phone (xiaomi is better than Samsung).

BTW, I noticed my ping is getting lower since two days back (previously 200+ms).
*
okay, let’s say you have a connection throughput of 80mbps from your connected client to Digi’s 4G network, and from Digi’s network to YouTube server is only rated at 1.5mbps and from digi’s Network to Singtel’s server is 35mbps at the same point of time, when you do a an access to YouTube server, the bottleneck would be the link between digi and YouTube server, and when you do a speedtest to Singtel server via speedtest app, it will show you much higher throughput because digi simply has much better throughput link from its network to singtel.

Therefore it’s not really accurate to say it’s congestion of the 4G network at your area at that point of time, it might be due to ‘congestion’ of its back haul to certain services.

If you don’t use DNS at all, you won’t be able to access anything on the internet.
