Finally managed to get my B525 in interband 3 + 7 using BlueStacks and Huawei Manager.

I only have an iphone and my windows 7 can't run Huawei Toolbox..did I make it so complicated?

Huawei default web config page can only choose one band at a time, correct me if I am wrong..

The pricier one. Search the thread for the difference. Same applies for E5186.

What If i can set my Digi using B525 to Band3 would be lovely.

Default B525 web configuration can select band bro, please try again. The only thing u can't do with default web config is interband/intraband.

Where to dowload bluestacks?

I've tried B525 WebGui, you can select 4G 3G 2G but not the band.

your firmware is different from mine. Mine is Huawei firmware.

Damn, wouldn't have noticed this til u mentioned it. Mine is stock firmware since I bought it on shopee.

My B525 software version is 11.232.05.00.07 by the way.

Tried googling and there seems to be newer firmware update than mine, but it's hosted on some forum that u have to pay to download the firmware doh.gif

Checking at huawei website also can't find any support on this model, hmmm...

So after those disappointing days with TM Streamyx 4 Mbps , I'm going to change to Digi Infinite 150 , and I need help to pick which modem / router is the best for my use case .

My home is a apartment unit at Persiaran Sri Pinang , as the screenshot of this coverage map , it's exactly at the bubble pointer.

Which router should I get , as it's replacing my streamyx as a *home wifi* use case, I have a home phone that I want to use with the unlimited calls of the plan. I think it's also better to have 5Ghz band as there's a lot of wifi networks around my apartment.

dont forget to check coverage speed at ur house using prepaid first..

How long you need to extend?
Best to do power extension of your CPE and connect to the CPE via LAN.

You can look for RG58 or RG174. Basically 50 Ohm coax, but those 2 are common.
RG58 is better, but more expensive. If you find those with N-connector and you add adapter, you will be adding more loses. Coax extension is not like power cable or Lan cable extension. Any length or converter introduces losses. Even just 5 meters extension will add a lot of loss
*
5-10meters. Planning to put my MIMO antenna outdoor.

I can't move the modem due to limitation of devices connected to it (my androidbox has no wifi capability).

If length will be an issue for signal loss, what about those external antenna people mount outdoors? e.g. rooftop etc.

that kind of length will make antenna useless.

how about use "TP-LINK Repeater WiFi Wireless Range Extender/Booster ". I bought in lelong for RM75. It has a LAN socket on it.
*
QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Feb 5 2018, 06:45 PM)
Rule of thumb: Shorter antenna cable = less signal loss.
You can't get as good as if your mount it with shorter coax compared to longer coax.

Example:
Let say right now with existing setup you bring your Antenna outdoor and test the speed. You found out it is good. If you add an coax extension, the speed will not be as good.

Worse case, you get less speed compared to leaving the antenna indoors.
Best case, you prove me wrong and get very good speed increase due to your house being a mobile dark spot.
Can do such connection to your android box.
Modem -> Cat5e-> Switch/WIFI repeater ->Cat5e -> Android box
*
Thanks for the inputs. Will research further on this.

Best way looks like to replace my 3-year old androidbox with wifi capability.

Tower with band 3 is nearby my house while band 7 is 2x the distance.

Should I lock my B525 to band 3+7 or band 3 only?

The thing is I'm getting better speed with band 3 only..or it is always better to lock 2 bands?

Same here, no point to be mad since it's already stated on their website. I tried to livechat with their customer service but same reply given.

"If I terminate the service before the contract ends, do I need to return the modem(s)?
No, you can keep the modem after you pay the penalty."

Better pay penalty 499 to terminate within the contract period. The device is yrs. Can someone double confirm?

Is still worth by paying the penalty.
*
Need to check if the modem is sim-locked..if yes, need to check online for unlocking services.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Mar 22 2018, 10:28 PM)
Yes but cannot be used for routers.

B618 looks like it supports volte..so just call digi to activate volte and I can use phone function even on 4G?
