Hi everyone, I newly join i150, I got the sim last week.
I was using Nexus 7 (tablet 2013) to run speed test, so far I can get 10 - 22 Mbps for download, upload > 10 Mbps.
I find 2 problems using this plan. Having said so the DL is fast, but when I download files or download offline video from YouTube, I can't get the said speed. It's normally around 500 - 800 KBps. The other problem is I use Nexus 7 as hotspot, the speed I got from PC is unstable. Sometimes I got around 2 Mbps, sometimes less than 0.5 Mbps.
- I'm not sure if Digi throttles download speed when it detects user is downloading files on mobile devices. - And for my PC case, is it Digi limiting users from tethering their internet. Or is it just my Nexus not suitable to be hot spot.
Any idea?
Thank you.

QUOTE(syahpian @ Nov 5 2017, 07:34 PM) i also have the same problem, when downloading it get full speed for few second, after that, it slow to 100-200KB/s using 4g router here I was thinking to get one 4G router, like HuaWei E5186s-22A. But after your post, I hesitated, I'm afraid the result disappoints me if I buy the router.. QUOTE(fruitie @ Nov 5 2017, 07:37 PM) Some users suffer throttled speed when tethering but many of us have no issue with it, we are still getting full speed when tethering. You try tethering from other devices if it is the same, if yes please make complaint to Digi. Are you using 4G router or mobile device as hot spot?

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Nov 30 2017, 05:26 PM) Mine is an Infinite 150 plan, therefore there is no quota or restrictions. You should ask someone with i100 or i80 to post their My DiGi screen shot. It looks like you have unlimited vice call time. Look at mine, I don't have voice call. It's weird.

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Dec 1 2017, 09:11 AM) Nope you do have unlimited voice call as well. Mine is showing differently because it is reflecting the Roam Like Home quota. You are all good and set to go my friend. Thank you for the info. Anyway, I only use the number for internet, as a hotspot. I will get my E5186 soon, maybe I'll consider to setup for call (not sure can E5186 really work or not for voice call)..

QUOTE(fruitie @ Dec 1 2017, 10:40 AM) Yes. It's working just that you cannot use LTE only as it doesn't work with Digi VoLTE. Thank you for the info.

I have finally got my E5186s-22a. E5186s-22a and M7450
So far the download speed I can get for now is around 1.x MB/s. Probably the speed maybe faster during non-peak. This post has been edited by (^.^)v: Dec 6 2017, 10:47 PM

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Dec 6 2017, 10:57 PM) Hey guy, I'm just come across and still wondering which one is better router? TP-LINK TL-MR6400 300Mbps Wireless N 4G LTE VS TP-LINK New MR200 AC750 Wireless Dual Band 4G LTE WiFi Router Which one is better? By the way, got somebody wanna to sell TP-Link 4G Router? Thanks a lot. Basically, in term of LTE, both of them are same. Except MR200 supports AC WIFI (maximum speeds of up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 433 Mbps on the 5GHz band), where the other only WIFI N type (up to 300 Mbps).

QUOTE(Xaser_3 @ Dec 6 2017, 10:59 PM) Is your area within LTE-A coverage? Let us know what speeds you are getting during off peak times. yeah, I'll update here once I try the download speed during off peak time. By the way, I'm at LTE-A area, E5186 router shows that it's CA connection. QUOTE(JuneResources @ Dec 6 2017, 11:16 PM) In this case, if I put DiGi SIM to this MR200, still can support as usual, am I right? Yup, you are right. It can support LTE as usual. Please be reminded, MR200 and MR6400 don't support CA (LTE-A).

QUOTE(Ngto @ Dec 7 2017, 12:39 AM) yeah, the speed is around the range, sometime it can go up to 30++ Mbps. QUOTE(JuneResources @ Dec 7 2017, 10:20 AM) Wow, got router can support CA (LTE-A)? I believe the cost of router not cheap at all. Yeah, it's around RM4xx (second hand of E5186s-22a) to RM6xx (TP Link M7450) for my case. You can refer page 1 for router recommendation.

QUOTE(JuneResources @ Dec 7 2017, 04:46 PM) Yo, RM600 - RM700 for that router? Cannot lah.. Once I buy this router, then cannot pay the monthly broadband subscriptions. In long run, it's worth to invest. Of course it depends on your budget planning.

QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Dec 9 2017, 10:58 PM) First u need to know every digi cell tower in your area. Band 3,7,8 all of them. Then test which tower provide higher speed in peak and non peak hour.. try your device in every spot if your places. Including some impossible spot.. add an 4g antenna, if your connection is LTE advance, make sure both band 3 & 7 is equally strong in signal and high in speed. If one of the band is low speed, LTE a won't get you any higher speed. In that situation you better force select band manually depends on speed and time.. Thank you for the tip. I can see band 3, 7 and 8 (saw my router connected to it this morning) available in my area, but I never tested the speed for each band, anyway it's a good start to know. Unfortunately, I can only force the router to select band 3 + 7 with "E5186 Toolbox", coz combination of band 8 is not available in the tool box. By the way, with the speed test result you got, can you really get 10 MB/s download speed when you download file/video clips? Thanks. This post has been edited by (^.^)v: Dec 9 2017, 11:34 PM

QUOTE(chuahcs79 @ Dec 10 2017, 02:23 PM) i normally download from seedbox.. using eagle get ( free version of IDM )..speed is around 9~11.5MB/s stable with current combination..it is also depends on which websites server u download from, some server digi have restricted speed in connection Yeah, I also do the same, download from seedbox with IDM. I can get around 1.xx to 2.xx MB/s, higher speed during off peak. I tried switching to single band, I find band 7 can give fastest and stable speed. With CA, the speed will fluctuate. QUOTE(danokchonger @ Dec 11 2017, 06:37 PM) Digi has no plan to do CA on band 8. I already asked and the reason they gave was other Telcos hv no such plan too i.e. this is not common. So that put off my plan to purchase router with 3 bands CA capability. That's bad news to me, coz I thought I could set CA band 7 + 8, as both bands are the stable and fast speed. Band 3 is kinda congested at my area..
