Hi everyone, I newly join i150, I got the sim last week.

I was using Nexus 7 (tablet 2013) to run speed test, so far I can get 10 - 22 Mbps for download, upload > 10 Mbps.

I find 2 problems using this plan. Having said so the DL is fast, but when I download files or download offline video from YouTube, I can't get the said speed. It's normally around 500 - 800 KBps. The other problem is I use Nexus 7 as hotspot, the speed I got from PC is unstable. Sometimes I got around 2 Mbps, sometimes less than 0.5 Mbps.

- I'm not sure if Digi throttles download speed when it detects user is downloading files on mobile devices.
- And for my PC case, is it Digi limiting users from tethering their internet. Or is it just my Nexus not suitable to be hot spot.

Any idea?

I was thinking to get one 4G router, like HuaWei E5186s-22A.
But after your post, I hesitated, I'm afraid the result disappoints me if I buy the router..

I have finally got my E5186s-22a.

So far the download speed I can get for now is around 1.x MB/s. Probably the speed maybe faster during non-peak.

Basically, in term of LTE, both of them are same. Except MR200 supports AC WIFI (maximum speeds of up to 300 Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 433 Mbps on the 5GHz band), where the other only WIFI N type (up to 300 Mbps).

By the way, I'm at LTE-A area, E5186 router shows that it's CA connection.


Yup, you are right. It can support LTE as usual.
Please be reminded, MR200 and MR6400 don't support CA (LTE-A).

yeah, the speed is around the range, sometime it can go up to 30++ Mbps.


Yeah, it's around RM4xx (second hand of E5186s-22a) to RM6xx (TP Link M7450) for my case.

Wow, you can such fast speed, I'm also at Penang, but I can only can 20 Mbps something with E5186.
So envy...

I have to update if I don't, I can't connect to Internet. It always routed me to Login page and show me the update notification.

I can see band 3, 7 and 8 (saw my router connected to it this morning) available in my area, but I never tested the speed for each band, anyway it's a good start to know.
Unfortunately, I can only force the router to select band 3 + 7 with "E5186 Toolbox", coz combination of band 8 is not available in the tool box.



By the way, with the speed test result you got, can you really get 10 MB/s download speed when you download file/video clips?

Yeah, I also do the same, download from seedbox with IDM. I can get around 1.xx to 2.xx MB/s, higher speed during off peak.
I tried switching to single band, I find band 7 can give fastest and stable speed. With CA, the speed will fluctuate.

That's bad news to me, coz I thought I could set CA band 7 + 8, as both bands are the stable and fast speed. Band 3 is kinda congested at my area..
