Im shocked that ee60 perform better than e5186... Maybe e5186 just too overrated perhaps?
Using now e5186.. Speed and ping not much different from phone.. Mi6 and rn4

and yet someone want to have a modem for 3CA and 4CA. but it may because of coverage. My place has no 4g or LTE-A coverage at Digi Coverage maps, but ive managed to get the 4g with a simple tweak. That router might help to some, but i doubt it will help me. With EE60, my average speed is around 20-40mbps. with E5186 and AC 790, only E5186 has the advantage of EE60, but with a slight margin. The AC790 goes down.a weak 4g recipient and a bad battery life. I dont like it. Ive sold it to someone, and he likes it.

personally I use so many line from Maxis unlimited to Digi unlimited and Unifi VIP 50...
when come to gaming and stability, nothing beat Unifi bro.
3G/4G Broadband sometime can disconnect is the mist of gaming or downloading stuff...
they not stable even though under very good coverage..  smile.gif

true enough. u can never go wrong with fibre. even streamyx 1mbps perform well. i dont think gaming need speed, but more towards latency.

QUOTE(Ngto @ Jan 2 2018, 01:03 AM)
I have 2 pcs 790S.

1 is Telstra unit without your lock band options.

2nd unit also Telstra which I bought with the band lock option already done for me.

I was surprised that the 2 unit , whatever bands I locked or Auto , performed much worse than the 1st unit which was set to Auto only. The unmodified 1st  unit was easily 3 times faster than the modified 2nd unit using Maxis prepaid. With Digi Prepaid it was twice the speed.

After trying various things to get the same performance , without success, I decided to factory reset to remove the band lock modifications, and now both units perform similarly.

I don't know why adding the band lock options crippled the 2nd unit.
*
I've found that what ever u said is true. Maybe the router was not meant to be changed. Set them back to auto

You still don't understand what my post was about.
*
No worries bro. I totally understand. I think this was due to different batch, different firmware etc. My router was like when changing to factory reset, it performs well. But when u kacau the band locking by putty, it did perform good for a while until the next day, it deteriorate. Some said it's because u have the old version or refurbished item. Thus it doesn't performed well compare to the other which may be new or has no defect.

Is this the cheapest 4CA?
4CA will happen? Or 2CA straight to 5G?
*
most likely 4ca will be available in rural area and the urban will get 5g straight. but this is only my prediction. i dont really know their roadmap.

If 2CA straight to 5g, it's a waste to buy 4ca modem.

before this, i actually said the same thing like u did now until, this RM750 router listing from taobao comes suggested above.
verty tempted. I will sell my e5186 (which i bought for RM400+) to get this M1 router. Current M1 Market price ranging from RM950-1100 from ebay to local seller. never bought any from local seller because its expensive. got few of them sell it cheap (for certain type of router like AC790c), but, i rather get it at taobao/ebay even if its RM10 different.

really huge upgrade? Price almost doubled.
Need to buy the docking?
*
i simply sell my Huawei for rm500+.. the market price for that router is still ranging from 500-> 700. and if its good, i will sell my ee60 which i currently use most. for RM250.

like any netgear mifi router, the most thing ive scared about is the auto-reboot upon large file download or speedtest that happen to a lot of netgear mifi routers. ive sold my ac 790 and the new owner was complaining about this and when i google for it, many users were complaining the same thing even for M1. The reasons mentioned are:
1) refurbished router/faulty router
2) wrong cable/adapter for charging. U need a stronger power adapter.

So, I will keep my EE60 first, if there is an issue with M1, definitely i will return it or sell it cheaply to other people.

no docking needed.

You mean your a.c. 790 is refurb or Netgear Qc Not Good?

No idea. I can't distinguished. Or it just simply the router itself is an issue

For me, M1 is better suit for those who travel a lot / mobile. Not suitable for home router.

The main drawback for M1 is the band selection/ current band indicator. That why i option for B525. But M1 build quality is good. Feel solid to hold. Battery last a lot longer than my wife ac790 / huawei mifi. FYI, M1 size is not small, consider big for portable wifi. Its like put a 1040mah power bank in your pocket.

For the reboot issue, just simply use it with QC2.0 charger and better USB type-C cable, which i did. No reboot occur after that as Netgear packaging  come with normal non-QC charger.

BTW, 2CA is more than enough for current use as Malaysia 4g-LTE-A not that stable yet. Only some location benefit from Carrier Aggregation. Make sure to check your local tower/ band before buy LTE-A capable modem. For those who have good LTE-A in their area, go for it. It almost double the speed. rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

thanks for the reply.

my ee60 can get 100mbps. but with e5186-22a, i cant get the speed. u think i can get more than 100mbps with M1? LTE-A here

For your case,e5186 and ee60 speedtest done under the same scenario? Speed constant at 100mbps? Not sure about M1 in your area. Try borrow your friend Samsung S8 and see the result.

Judging from my experience, CPE tend to have better connection and speed.
*
Yup. Same scenario. Both single band and CA were test. U can't get similar result. Speed can't be constant at 100mbps. The speed I got for 100 mbps are usually morning and people are out to work. Average speed I got were 50-60mbps. Im using iphone X, buT some said due to chip issue, it doesn't perform as well as the ee60

Netgear M1 sounds like a near perfect Mifi for Digi I150

> 5000 mah battery
> ethernet port
> CA LTE-A

too bad very expensive and no official warranty here.
*
someone posted for rm750. go grab em.

and no official warranty? since when all this router from taobao, ebay, garage sale that we recommended on the first page got warranty. all either seller warranty or none.
