Other option is to get Redmi 4x and unlock 4g+, there's a guide. Not sure if Volte will work though.

Actually there is now a way for Note 4/4x to get intraband, just matter of time before regular 4/4x will get it too. b3+b7 working, as well as b3+b8 working. Note 4 / 4x, screen is big for me though.

Also, do you have international version of 4x or Chinese version? Do you have band 8?

OMG... I've never seen this version. Assuming you have 4x with Snapdragon, and Chinese version, you should not have Band 8. If you had Singapore version, you should have band 8 AND band 20... Now, unless you unlocked band 8 yourself, you have the weirdest model (no offense, nothing against, just shows how confused is Xiaomi with their own phones).

Between these two.. are there any differences in term of signal strength?
If I already have the rm3420... would it just be better if I search for another USB modem...
Or should I buy the E5186 for better reception?

If the coverage/signal is bad at my area... but better a spot ~800m from my home... will using an antenna helps improve my reception?
