I wanna terminate tmsuck so bad.
My area only supported max 1mbps streamyx (currently using) and unifi port was fully occupied.
I got no choice, gotta stuck to it freaking expensive but low speed. . mad.gif

Digi seems my only life saver now, to replace tmsuck!

Please advise what's the difference between both:
Huawei B310 (call+Internet) - CAT4 150mbps - 32 user - 2.4ghz wifi
Huawei B315 (call+Internet) - CAT4 150mbps - 32 user - 2.4ghz wifi
Thanks!
*
I think the only difference between these two is B315 has three LAN ports, while B310 only has one. Everything else is the same. So if I were u, I would just buy B310

Just bought a Digi Infinite for my parents, to be used as Broadband. At the order page, it says there I will need to provide my IC to the delivery guy. Will GDex be that strict in implementing that? Because I'm in KL while my parents are in the East Coast. So, I won't be there to verify with my IC.

I've recently found a Huawei Band Tool that should work well with many Huawei Dongles/Wingles/Routers etc. I'm using Huawei B310as-852 and the E5186 tool doesn't really play well with my router, there's error message all the time. Hence that's why I tried to google for any other tools that could be used.

This tool would require a very basic command line knowledge. So give it a go. Nothing too difficult. There are versions for Windows/Mac/Linux but I will just show here how to use it in Windows, since I presume many of us just use Windows anyway.

Original link to the tool here, in German https://www.lteforum.at/mobilfunk/huawei-band-tool.7970/

Features

- Lock any supported bands (including CA bands).
- Lock the network operator.
- Change the antenna mode.
- Signal display.
- CLI tool with relay function for scripts.
- Easily expandable with scripts.

Instructions

1. Download the tool here https://nofile.io/f/RzeKgTuZg7T/huawei_band_tool_v0.1.zip

2. Extract the tool to anywhere you want. I just place it at my desktop.

3. Open the folder and look for the text file called "huawei_band_tool_config". Edit the username and password to your router in that text file.

4. Go to file explorer. Type C:\\WINDOWS\system32 in the address bar

5. Find the command line application, CMD. Right click and create a shortcut to the Desktop.

6. Right click on the desktop shortcut of CMD, click properties. Put the exact path of the extracted folder in the "START IN" value. Mine is "C:\users\MrGray\Desktop\Windows" . Yours would be different.

7. Open the command line shortcut in desktop. Type "dir" to get a list of all available commands.

Type the desired scripts to get the results. The full list is available in the original thread but I'm just going to show a few main ones that I like to use. At any time, just type "ENTER" to exit to the main command line.

1. Command: LTE_ALL.BAT . Explanation: Enable all supported LTE bands
Attached Image

2. Command: LIST_AVAILABLE_OPERATORS.BAT. Explanation: Show all available operators that could connected to the router. My Huawei B310as-852 supports LTE Band B3/B7/B8/B38 and B40. And at my current location, I can connect to all networks. YEAY. smile.gif. 502153 refers to Webe. Since this router doesn't support B5, I'm very sure Webe has rolled out B40 LTE at my area. drool.gif

Attached Image

3. Command: LTE_1800.BAT . Explanation: Lock to LTE B3

Attached Image

It would be really nice if somebody could convert this into an easy GUI application. nod.gif

**EDIT. I've played around further with the tool and I've found the following list of networks according to the bands at my location smile.gif. Now I also know that Digi has enabled its B8 LTE at my place. icon_rolleyes.gif

B3: Celcom, Maxis, Digi and U Mobile
B7: Celcom, Maxis, Digi and U Mobile
B8: Digi
B38: Yes 4G
B40: Yes 4G and Webe.

Im using b310, when calls come in internet connection will drop.. any solution?
*
For calls, connection will automatically change to HSDPA/3G/2G. So of course the Internet would deteriorate. I can't think of any router that supports VOLTE at the moment.

I use Huawei B310. It's a CAT 4 router, so no LTE-A. But I'm satisfied with it, consistently around 30mbps speed.

Besides dedicated router, another good option would be to use a powerful router with USB port + USB dongle like Huawei E3372.

I'm currently trying to find a decent Asus router that has USB port. IMHO, Asus router usually has better wireless range than Huawei. Its user interface is better too.

Is Huawei E8378  good for home use for RM220?
My home can only get peak 20mbps up and down.
Or is there any other alternative at that price point?
[attachmentid=9218541]

Huawei E8372 is similar. And cheaper too. Small routers like E8378 and E8372 are okay for a few devices. And the distance covered is quite small too. WiFi performance is worse than dedicated routers, as expected from the cheaper price. I prefer dedicated routers like Huawei B310, E5186 or Dlink DWR921 or TP-LINK MR200.

Just received my Huawei E5186s-22. The speed test with DiGi Infinite 150 is superb for my area, 30Mbps Down, 6Mbps Up. However, the problem is the Huawei router keeps restarting on its own. Is this a common problem? Only 3 clients connected. Will flashing the firmware with the guide by Blacktubi solves the problem? Oh dear.... I bought it from Taobao... I hope I don't have to return it to China.....
*
Your router is probably faulty. Send an email to english@service.alibaba.com on how to claim refund/return. And Taobao representative would reply to you in english.

Hi all.

I am currently using D-link 2750E router for my home Streamyx 4MB (going to terminate soon once contract end in Feb 2018) which sharing with 7 of my family members. When one of them is watching YouTube, the rest cannot even load Facebook. doh.gif

So I am thinking about getting the Digi I150 plan. Since I am also a Digi user, I can tell their internet here (in/outdoor) quite fast tough.
user posted image

The D-link 2750E router comes with one USB port (maybe its for USB modem but I am not really sure)

So the questions:
Should I get a USB modem for my new Digi I150 and plug into the D-link router
or
get another better home router? (which one better and inexpensive) confused.gif

and why the huawei routers are so expensive one  cry.gif

Your router is quite old, and it only supports 3G dongle, according to this link http://global.dlink.com.sg/site_support/DS...ibilityList.pdf

Can Huawei E5172 support 4g ? Asking because a seller in Lazada claims it only support 3g . Thanks

https://www.lazada.com.my/huawei-e5172-4g-1...0.0.2eBNsl&ff=1

Huawei E5172s-515 supports LTE B2, B5 and B7.

Maxis/u mobile/digi/celcom use B3 and B7 mainly. So if your area doesn't have B7. The router would fall back on 3G.

Hello guys. This is my first post.

Thinking to subscribe a i150 for my office in KL Jalan Imbi.

I have a asus dsl RT-AC52U. Please provide your valuable suggestion on the following option:-

1) get a new Huawei E3276 Cat4 USB modem + existing RT-AC52U as wireless router

2) get a new Huawei E5186 Cat6 modem router

3) get a new Huawei E5186 Cat6 modem router as Modem + existing RT-AC52U as wireless router (if i plug in a cordless phone will this combination work as well?)

Which option would provide the best speed and coverage?

Thank you
*
If I were you, I would just buy a dongle. And pair that with the router.

Huawei E3372h-153 would be a good choice. It supports LTE B3, B7 and B8. So very suitable for Digi.

Any device recommended for digi infinite 150 with CA ability?
From 1st page and the this forum, i saw there are 3 main category for digi i150 such as modem, mobile hotspot and phone to insert the digi sim.

Modem
I saw Huawei 525 and 5186-22a and huawei b618 are popular and good.
Pros:
Having more stable internet if compare with mobile hotspot.
Cons:
Need purchase other phone to connect with the modem for calling. (plug-in)

Mobile hotspot
I saw netgear ac790s is in the list for Carrier aggregation(CA)
Pros:
Can bring and carry to it anywhere for surfing internet. (Balik kampung during raya and outstation also can bring along) (just can sharing internet and some model can act as powerbank)
Cons:
Less stable internet if compare with modem router.
Cannot calling from anywhere (cannot act like smartphone & Wasting the unlimited call)

Smartphone
From 1st page only shows Samsung high-end phone such as S7 and S8 have CA ability.
Pros:
Can call from anytime and anywhere.
Can bring and carry to it anywhere for surfing internet and act like mobile hotspot but with more function (act as spare phone, driving recorder, entertainment and so on)
Can insert one more sim card if u pick dual sim phone. (Calling from others to my old number and new digi i150 number can always be reached)
Cons:
Less stable internet if compare with modem router.
Device easily get hot. (But i think it won't explode and burn like note 7 right?)

Conclude:
I will pick Smartphone. brows.gif
The reason i pick the phone for digi i150 over modem and mobile hotspot is because it act like a all-rounder which can overcome all the pros from modem and mobile hotspot without scarifying all cons too.
Although without the top speed and telco tower congested during peak hour, as long as still can connect the internet is okay for me because i not the advanced user. So, i think the less stable internet is not issue for me.

After doing some finding: rclxub.gif
S7 and S8 are quite expensive which around and more than 2k.
I think the cheapest we can get for 3CA device is lg v20 H990DS ?
removable battery + unlimited call
removable battery can swap battery (3200mah) easily just like a mobile hotspot
unlimited call can enjoy the call anywhere (which currently all the mobile hotspot cannot do)
Can insert SD card to be storage purpose.

Sorry for long post, hope all the lowyat forum-er can give some advise to me before i purchase the LG v20 with 1k++. notworthy.gif
Kindly brave to share your thinking too if i missing out some point.  notworthy.gif
Thanks.  thumbup.gif

You'd kill the battery in no time. If u were to use it as mifi everyday.

That means it's not connected to the network. Open 192.168.8.1 and check. It could be you choose 2G only and there's no Digi 2G in your area.

Amex can be used as autobilling. But you'll need to register the auto billing at digi store.
