But cannot use Volte. You not sad?

It's ok for me because I don't always lock band as I am mostly on CA. I only lock band when the speeds are really slow, which barely happens these days.

i just notice my kg got upgraded from 4g to 4g+ ...

based on my speedtest on s7e, not much diff.. if i use b618.. will it help boost the speed and stability ?
*
It is possible that the B618 can improve your speed and performance due to the 4x4 Mimo antenna. You will need to find a good position to place it during setup.

Yes because B618 can select bands and lock bands.

That's strange, VoLTE works for me for all three LTE bands.  Having said that, my phone can't lock bands.

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 11 2018, 02:29 PM)
I believe if lock band means hack already. So the modem won't function correctly
Yeah I find it weird too
*
When u lock band, it means ur sim are not 3g capability which is for handover to 3g. That is y it wont work.

If anyone use samsung, u can try by force only 1 band for Lte , but also force a umts band which not available in malaysia, then u will get volte d (to prove that force band actually works lol)

Nonsense? If Digi doesn't apply QOS(or whatever method they used) against infinite plan users, this cannot explain the issue we've been facing, I've already seen several case which infinite plan got slower speed compare to normal package, PLUS, as a i150 user, everytime I feel the network is slow, I would do a speedtest so I have evidence for MCMC, and almost everytime, the speed would go up in the middle of speedtest, would you kindly, explain these issue before you called me nonsense?
*
Dun use speedtest. All digi sites have implement a solution that giv u all resources once u perform speedtest.net
DL thing / streaming is ur real bandwidth, that is all.

Digi does have few sites configute LTE-A between b8 n b3
Given thay thr is no b7 at the sites.

Btw, how ur modem detect the capability of the LTE/ LTE-A that digi has?

The point of Volte is you don't want to handover to 3g.

Great! This is a very good explanation on what happens when we lock bands and it's underlying mechanics. Thank you very much for the explanation, Bro! 👍👍✌

Voice-Over-LTE.

if device does not support VoLTE, then it needs to step down to 3G to make and receive voice call.

if you lock band to 4G - preventing it from stepping down - but device itself does not support VoLTE, ....

Not sure what do you meant at the last line there, because device like the B618-65d supports VoLTE.

If both using the same kind of phone than it could be a high possibility due to congestion on the Infinite network. I heard they are on a different network compared to the normal DiGi one.
*
Is it the diff APN settings? Or maybe all apn are the same , which apn are better for infinite plans?

It's not the APN but the QoS which determines the speeds and performance for the designated DiGi subscriptions.

Good morning Bro. I see it from a different point of view. I strong believe that prosibu knows what he is talking about from his past contributions in regards to the DiGi network.

The other way around, I couldn't quite understand what he was saying.

I was talking about volte in general while you are hammering about a specific device. the diff is like learning how to fish vs asking for a fish.

volte-capable network AND volte-capable device = capable of making volte calls.

NOT (volte-capable network AND volte-capable device) = MUST step down to make/receive 3G/2G calls.

excuse my intrusion. when you lock band, you prevent the DEVICE from switching. it has nothing to do with modifying what the SIM is already capable of.

the SIM, in my understanding, is about identifying your subscription to the network. itself is not about selecting which network or band it wants to attach itself to - that's the job of device.
