I'm thinking to take a ride with grab/uber tomorrow. I want to know is the fare stated during booking is final? I know that uber, if the destination taking longer time to arrive they will have surcharge(for example traffic jam).

But i heard got cases which they incur sudden surcharge, like if there are less driver available (even when rider already on a ride with them and on their way to destination ) and the final fare will differ from the one stated in the booking.

Can frequent rider shed a light on this? Need input on both grab and uber. Thanks in advance.

as far as i know

for uber there extra charge if :
1. time taken to get there is more than it should (jammed)
2. night charge (same as grab)
3. high demand area at that particular time
4. change of drop-off place

no charge for toll (included) as far as i know

So if take grab no matter how jam the road is, price is fix? uber i read about the extra surcharge from experience of one of the forumer here. That's why i'm a bit worried if the final price when drop off will be different from the one when we booked.

Uber and grab have night charge? 1st time heard about this. If high demand time yes i know it will be reflected upon booking. But if jam, fare will show upon booking or the price will increase as we moving towards destination?

btw just had my 1st experience with grab. So far so good. Going to try uber next time.

for Grab...ya...no extra charges..price is fixed...no matter how jam it is..what you see is what you need to pay..

for Uber..in KL...still no extra charges...jam or not..Uber will show you how much you need to pay..

only if Grab/Uber have to pass tolls, then you have to fork out for the tolls money..

Want cheap fare remember to key in the promo code, and then select Grab Share service. Applicable for Grab only. Toll (if any) yet to include in the fare calculation. Good luck.

I will go with grab because its more fast and you know the price before hand. In today's complicated world, you don't want to be accountable for any traffic delay that might come along your way.

once u try, u will luv it, the price base on how long u travel, if the driver took wrong route, it cost more
