Hi all, good day. I am offered by ExxonMobil for engineer role. At the same time, I am already senior engineer in shipyard and I have the confident that will be promoted to assistant manager role within next 2 year. Is it worth for me to jump ship to oil major ?

Salary increment is around 25% from current salary. The salary offered is still higher than assistant manager in my current company. Appreciate if you all could shed some light on it ? Worth for me ? Thanks in advance

Maybe you should ask yourself why you applied for a job in Exxon in the first place?

I suggest you move on. Join Exxon for a new working experience. And you will be paid better. You could spend 10 years in Exxon and later come back to your previous company as a CEO.

Thanks bro for the inputs. I believe that Exxon will be a better yet bigger platform for more exposure. And of coz, the pay is better. And most important point, is my dream to work in oil major like EM. Just feel sad as downgrade from senior engineer back to engineer.
