QUOTE(Rorschach85 @ Nov 19 2018, 06:01 PM) Sorry guys out of topic.. no legal right, but if client is willing to pay you, whats the catch? as long as he sign the papers, I don't see an issue. Can the client force the main contractor to pay their sub contractor? In this case the client rep is ood friend with the sub contractor boss |

All I can say it's a veteran market now. Have yet seen greenhorn drillers except for drilling engineers from operator side. I could be wrong, but everyone is running lean.

QUOTE(mhyug @ Sep 17 2019, 09:25 PM) yaa itu nama dia. cant recall right before this. the guy who famously said "you having paycheck is bonus" to the rig crews whom asked if there is any performance bonus from hess drilling campaign. hahaha. he maybe vicious but he gets the job done. anyway as replied by many and otai drillier abang meon, for the heydays to now mmg low la kot. but imo drillers better paid then those position below drillers.what to do when a rig which used to go on a day rate of xxxk per day going for much less..so anak-anak kapai pon sikit la jugak dapat. always wanted to do downhole stuff, be it driller or etc but didnt get the chance. nope im not from halliburton(another dream of mine to join em). lets see how long this "drone price spike" lasts. probably drone prices got higher also haha. lepas ni nak beli drone kena lesen mcm senapang gajah. since drillers rates are going down, what about ROV pilots? |

QUOTE(mhyug @ Sep 18 2019, 08:52 PM) yeah probably why hess hired him. but he always gets that whole cake we get crumbs haha. For ROV, Jobs are lesser, but rates remain high as usual. I guess everyone in this sector still operates lean, after all there are far less ROV pilots compared with drilling folks.i guess rov pilot also will get the same heat. less jobs, less pay perhaps. it trickles down of sorts. QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Sep 19 2019, 11:21 PM) If not mistaken, all Total E&P Malaysia field has been given back to MPM kan? And MPM give those field to ConocoPhilips, that Pelangi-1 well, the SK400 something field block, I cant remember the exact name of this deepwater block. One Former Total E&P Drilling Engineer was once our Uni Batch. I remember early this year ConocoPhilips are looking for drillship for Sarawak deepwater campaign, and some heavy recruitment from them as well for this campaign. So, this drilling campaign sudah jalan ke belum? What happen to Pelangi-1 well ah? Any former Total E&P Malaysia here can share some story? Anyway, Total E&P Malaysia sudah tutup kedai for good. |

I believe there will be another round of layoff if the oil price does not recover.
