 iPhone 6 from Japan, Can be used in Malaysia?

Hi guys. I bought an iPhone 6 under softbank at Japan and I will return to Malaysia next month. Do i need to unlock the iPhone of I want to use it Malaysia? Tq

I didn't notice it as well until I tried playing with my friend's iPad (he is a pilot based in Abu Dhabi). He explained that there are certain restrictions on it and what are some of the items which are missing. He couldn't even do video calls with Facebook as well.

It's to prevent covert photography e.g voyeur upskirt during rush hour in trains. It's a self imposed feature - not via legislature.
