As in most other commission based businesses, Grab / Uber commission should be limited to 2%.
20-25% is extortion.
Please petition your MPs to legislate this in Parliament.
Don't say this cannot be done, unless you have tried and failed.
Thank you.

2% is too low. Maybe 10-15% is adequate. If you drive for a week and hit the incentive you will realize they are getting close to zero after promotions payout (For Uber).

They may need to maintain current commission to sustain their business model. However it is also vital 2 improve driver earning. Some of the suggested improvements:
I) min fare of rm5. Ask rider to pay. we frequently travel few km to pick up cheapskate rider only goes for 1 to 2 km due to lazy to walk.
2) increase the basic fares. Tak kan expect us to provide good service (free mineral water, wifi, etc) + newer cars but fare are much lower than taxis.
3) the driver will not pick rider > 3 km. Unless the rider travel distance > 10km etc.
Our car running on petrol and no water. And it also need maintenance.

Even with 20-25% commission, Uber and Grab still losing money based on their spending on staff expenses, R&D, marketing and promo etc If u capped at 2% commission according to law, do u think Grab/Uber still want to conduct business in Malaysia?

This is unlikely to continue, else Grab / Uber will go bankrupt. QUOTE(forever1979 @ Jul 9 2017, 05:56 PM) not really, many drivers got incentive more than the comm paid...
