Maybe bro Buydirect can shed some light...

Thanks for the reply. I was thinking of whether to buy Kia Optima or Peugeot 508 which is coming in to Malaysia in Q2 2019.

The new 2018 or 2019 do look great. Wonder which type will naza or Peugeot malaysia bring it in here. The 1.6T is now known as puretech engine which  by right solve all the problems from prince engine.

The interiors of new Peugeot 508 is awesome
*
Yeah, agree. The new 508 interior is simply gorgeous and the exterior looks nice too.. The only thing that matters is the price now. haha

Damn.. mad.gif  i should vote for BN  sweat.gif

I cant think of any motive for not approving new variant pricing...

Must be the work of Mahathir....
Anyway I just found a used Kia Optima GT selling for RM137k only. Year made 2017.

https://www.mudah.my/2017+Kia+OPTIMA+2+0+GT...0951.htm?last=1

Looks like Kia resale value is quite good, contrary to the popular belief of korean cars have no resale value.

Thanks for the info bro! Hopefully the price will remain the same for the GT variant. Looks like they have added AUtonomous Emergency Braking as there’s a front camera at the grill there

Naza Kia very not efficient. Do things slowly.... don’t no what is wrong with them. They are going to lose a lot of potential customers.

I wonder what naza thinking after 1yr launch op-gt

Beside the conventional 6-speed gearbox, got 7-speed DCT mentioned in the features list..is it for the 2.0 EX variant? AFAIK, the 7-speed DCT only paired to the 1.6T-GDI engine
[attachmentid=10068640]

Also got 7 airbags & Rear Cross Traffic Collision Warning. I dont think my car has these features..misinformation perhaps?

Thanks bro for the advice. I have decided to forgo my Optima Blue and settle with the Platinum Graphite which is already ex stock at the showroom. My SA showed me the price list for the first five years of service which costs about RM7k. Looking forward to collect my car this Saturday and join the dark side with you! 🤣😆😆
*
Wao. Rm 7k for the first 5 years is really cheap! Is the 7k inclusive of parts, service and labour?

The RM7k is inclusive of parts and labour. FMS covers all this.  But wear and tear items like break pad and wiper are excluded.

Optima EX yet to arrive until now...

Yes. The EX haven’t launch yet. Maybe Kia Malaysia don’t want to bring in the EX variant.

Cars should be out at most Kia Showrooms by next week. Now open for booking. There won't be any official launch as this is just a new variant.
*
Do you have the full specs list of this variant? Can post here? And what are the differences with the GT variant?

Actually this lower variant is better than the GT variant as you can save RM 30k just for all these small differences. The only thing that is missing which I care about is the red leather seats. Are we allowed to top up some money just to get the red+black leather seats? Any idea in this?

I remember back in 2011 when bought my current car, I want to jimat rm30k and pick 2.0

Later on regret, since 2.0 not here and not there also. Lol. But this optima 163hp vs 245hp. So huge difference for rm30k only?.

Dont repeat my mistake please. Lol.

what do you mean by not here and not there? underpowered?

Quite disappointed that the facelifted Optima GT in Malaysia still lack of advance safety features like Auto Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise Control, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert etc since the other competitors like Honda, Toyota etc already step up their game. Back to 2009 with the introducing of Forte, it leads the way in safety specifications like ESC & 6 airbags for mainstream cars. But now the same trend did not happen to its current cars. Else, great power + great safety features will be a perfect combination...
*
Yeah. Fully agree. In this day and age, safety features should not be removed. I would not buy any cars that doesn’t have the above safety features mentioned.
