i am a bit more concern with the way we will play next season.. last season, our 3-4-3 took everybody by surprise. and we swept away with a 13 games winning streak. after that, more and more teams adopt this play style and we even got beaten on our own game by spurs and arsenal.
like previous Chelsea ex-managers, the season after being champion is much harder. expectation is higher with more games to play. has conte got Plan B? |

QUOTE(epsonstylux @ Jul 24 2017, 12:12 PM) I agree. Even united, spurs, city & arsenal has adapt to 3-4-3 agree that man utd pose the most threat going to next season. they got all the right player to perform. i think their downfall would be when miki is seriously injured. other than that, they will mount serious challenge for the title.I think in terms of tactics the most fierce competitor is United. Jose is highly analytical and the prospect of Rashford,Lukaku,Miki Mata & Pogba is terrifying. City will give a fair fight too, considering now Pep already got his wingbacks, but I just hope that he will fail due to his "philosophy" hahaha.. Their defence is still work in progress especially with Ederson. Normally new keeper won't be doing well in EPL. as for city, they got high quality player. question would be on how well these new players click together. maybe not going to happen in next season but if most stays put, 2018/19 they will be unbeatable. last season, IMO, spurs have the best man-to-man for each position in 3-4-3 formation. but they lost walker. however, they still good all around. arsenal? expecting the same meltdown come january next year... |

man city spending super crazy now..
did some research and excel job on nett spending since 2000.. result as below: 1) man city = -1,068.55 million (-767.41 since 10/11) > 2PL, 1Chmp, 1FA, 2LC, 1CS 2) chelsea = -744.14 million (-330.63 since 10/11) > 5PL, 4FA, 3LC, 3CS, 1CL, 1EL 3) man utd = -676.86 million (-522.75 since 10/11) > 7PL, 2FA, 4LC, 7CS, 1CL, 1EL, 1CWC 4) liverpool = -383.83 million (-209.97 since 10/11) > 2FA, 3LC, 2CS, 1CL, 1EL, 2SC 5) arsenal = -268.30 million (-243.5 since 10/11) > 2PL, 6FA, 4CS, price per trophies: 1) man city = 153 million / trophy 2) chelsea = 44 million / trophy 3) liverpool = 35 million / trophy 4) man utd = 32 million / trophy 5) arsenal = 22 million / trophy - in 8 season (since 10/11) man city spend more than the amount we spend in the last 18 season! matic on good days, he is unstoppable in the middle of the park. on other day, he will just vanished while trying to overdo things. i am just glad we managed to milk 40million from united for the sale.

on matic to man utd, i agree that we are not suppose to sell to our direct rival. however, the matter is more complicated as Matic is seeking the move and he prefer man utd more than inter. IIRC, inter offered 50million for him but he chose to pair up again with JM..
for ox, i also agree if the club going to get him for cover at RWB and CM. good utility player and i think should be good value considering the time left for us to complete our squad. |

i am not against chelsea going for drinkwater. he is a good squad player. bakayoko, kante and fabregas will cover a lot of ground next season and another player in that position will ensure we have enough coverage should somebody is injured or became fatigued.
however if oxlade chamberlain is also available, i think he would be a much more valuable signing due to his versatility. |

wow the new penalty system is awesome.. double the morale boosting is both went in.. but massive damage to the morale if both doesn't went in like what happened to us.
good game overall. i think pedro deserved the red. reckless tackle from the back and he is nowhere near the ball.. MOTM for our team is kante. he was all over the place. now we know why conte a bit hesitant to start with michy. we need CF who can hold on to the ball and both michy and morata cannot do it. at least for the time being. i hate to say this, but morata just look like another torres. same number at the back, same body language. i have the same feeling when i saw him play. not much desire to do something. i hope morata can proof me wrong in the upcoming match. |

wow the meltdown here is too absurd.
wtf with names like costa and zouma doing here? costa can never get back into terms with conte. zouma is already on loan to stoke. cahill and fab need to leave? this late into the transfer window? this is just wishful thinking. the squad depth is already paper-thin now and you wanted these players to leave. chelsea die-hard.. and you already writing the team off for the season just from a charity shield match. WTF! this is just a glorified friendly match. |

sub batshuayi.. please!
just put morata in. and then assume this is just another training game. minimize the damage and just start back during next game. the 1st and 3rd goal is surely defending mistakes. luiz should play the role to lead the line because he is the most senior. but he keep losing his mind. |

what a game! too bad we lose the game and lose another 2 players for the upcoming game against spurs..
i don't mind the ref brandishing away all the cards he got. as long as the decision is consistent along the season. i think both cahill and fabregas deserved their marching orders. i am not sure how are we going to line up against spurs. for me, morata need to start. no more stupid play with batshuayi. he is piss poor. offered nothing up front. not even some small movements to distract opponent's defense. i am not going to flame the team too much.. certainly this is not a good way to start the season, but... 37 GAMES LEFT! CALM YO TITS! |

QUOTE(abusive123 @ Aug 15 2017, 12:00 PM) I'm sorry but I can't accept number 4. Why can't we play hardball instead of strengthening our rivals? Sell to Juventus, take a lesser amount and we could have even had some leverage on Alex Sandro. another point that you are missing is football is nowadays, a big business. JM wanted him. Matic himself wanted to rejoin JM. and Man Utd meet our valuation for the player. for me, 40m for a 29 years old is good business. Its ridiculous that you so-called fans can accept this. If Hazard wants to join Arsenal, we should just sell him to them then? selling to rival club is just a minor problem. bigger problem is how the club find replacement when they sold the players. at the moment, the situation look bleak for us. very thin squad competing on several fronts.. btw.. if arsenal come and offered at least 300million for hazard, i would sell him. |
