I think what TS meant is condenser fan. In waja setup, there are 2 fans in engine bay, 1 for radiator and 1 for condenser (cool the air con condenser)
Normally, the condenser fan will kaput 1st in Waja. If this happen, the air con not cold but the engine temp will still be normal.

If you switch on air con, both fans must spin and turn off when the air con compressor cut off. In layman, when on air con, 2 fans must spin for few min and then off 10 to 20 sec (compressor cut off). The cycle will repeat.

If you never on air con, the both fans will only spin when the temperature reach close to 90c. It will spin less than 2 min then off again till the next cycle (usually 3 to 5 min but depends on the engine temp)

I m surprise with 1 fan working the air con still cold on hot day and during slow moving traffic. Last time the condenser fan not working straight away, air con not cold at all.
If driving highway, then this is less prevalent as air is gushing in when car moving fast.

The setup mentioned in my earlier post is for Auto transmission. If yours is manual, the setup for fans trigger point might be different.

The one that doesn't spin at all , if you switch on a.c. And it spins, that's a.c. Fan.

The other that starts and stops without a.c. Is the radiator fan

Then problem , the ac fan is hard wired to the ax compressor , if compressor is engaged , the fan must turn

Yes... some cars has two fans side by side for radiator and air-con. Some car has only one fan at the center and has radiator and air-con cooling coil sandwiched to save fan I guess laugh.gif

Some car run radiator fan immediately when engine start especially old car because the belt fan is linked to engine fan. Some car has electrical fan that spin only when engine need cooling. However, engine has temperature valve as well. So, the cooling water flows when engine gets hot, not matter if the radiator fan is running all the time.

My guess is that in your car, it is the air-con fan that starts and stop but maybe I'm wrong. laugh.gif

Yes, on my previous car, there are two fans also. Both condenser and radiator are sandwiched so that either fan will blow on both condenser and radiator at the same time. If the temperature is not that hot, only one fan will operate. The 2nd fan will operate when its sensor detect the set temperature. When driving on highway early morning or late night, the fan may shut off. This is normal

what the rest says makes sense, anyway.... "if its not broke, dont touch it" might apply
long as the temps are find and the ac is cold, biar je.

Different cars different setup. Waja mmc auto , both fans will run together when air con is switched on. Why? coz both condenser and radiator are full lenght in size. Fyi to TS, the condenser fan is on the driver side, and radiator is on passenger side on Waja. This should be the same for CPS as air con piping still the same as waja mmc.

Manual car like Wira SE and Honda in the 90s, the condenser is half lenght of the car engine bay. Each fan will operate independently.
Some cars may have full size radiator but half or 3 quarter size condenser. My experince in waja auto mmc when condenser fan kaput, the air con not cold at all even the other fan , i.e radiator fan is working.

To sum it up, if the car temp is ok and air con is cold when idling, not much to worry.
