QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Jul 7 2017, 10:55 AM) [attachmentid=8948812] Scratches caused by wiping Same case with the Black IP7s. Even when you have a backcover one, when dust accumulates at inside the cover, it will still scratch the polished surface. So a skin protector would be the best best.

QUOTE(Bacon-ator @ Jul 7 2017, 10:58 AM) Have you guys tried to bypass the face unlock using a picture of yourselves? I've tried multiple pictures to no avail. Even my twin cannot get pass the lock screen with his face. Strange, as I thought it would be less secure than what I'm currently experiencing. Rather impressive I must say. This proves that its not true that face recognition could be easily hacked.

QUOTE(JadenFongV @ Jul 8 2017, 09:24 AM) I realised alot of apps running in background eating my RAM, with 1.2 free RAM available only, seriously? Is that possible extend my SOt by disabling some RAM consuming apps in the background? [attachmentid=8951976] This is quite normal even for other android phones. You can try killing some of the apps to free up ram but those apps will reopen. Dont worry, you have 4gb of ram to 'turn around'.

QUOTE(JadenFongV @ Jul 8 2017, 09:59 AM) Mind to suggest which process in the screenshot is safe to be disabled? I wouldn't bother doing that as if you kill wrong processes and apps, you might risk ruining your FW or affecting the operations of your phone. Its not that your phone is running any slower now compared to having lesser apps running in the background.

QUOTE(vez @ Jul 10 2017, 09:23 PM) the only problem comes when the price for Samsung flagship down too fast in just weeks You have got that right. Maybe there was an over supply due to Samsung over estimating the demand. Whatever it is, if sure feels bad for those who preordered. Me included. I think will adopt the wait and see for note 8 this round.

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jul 11 2017, 04:47 PM) sad la then. I hate sticky screen, affect gaming performance. I think I'll just buy the screen protection and go naked. Then at last day of the warranty. smash the phone intentionally. You will still need to pay Rm100 for workmanship. Nah.... Just joking. The original screen wont get scratched so easily unless you like to put your phone together with keys and other sharp objects. I prefer using mine naked. I dislike the jelly feel of the screen protector as well.

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jul 11 2017, 06:54 PM) I'm using my 6p naked (besides a dbrand at the back) I still get scratches. Don't know how I got them though, sand and dust maybe? Just bought a liquid air armor for outdoor use though, s8 is giving me anxiety. First curved screen phone perhaps. For me, the original screen protector is still the best. The Rm39 for two piece pack at Samsung Outlets. Cheap and good. Dont need waste few hundreds for those glass SP.

QUOTE(prabjit93 @ Jul 11 2017, 11:57 PM) Thanks for the info. QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Jul 12 2017, 10:07 AM) I wanted to get that as well but when I saw my friend's, it got scratched up badly within 1-2 weeks. Hmm. The rubbery feeling is my main concern. I think I go the store try first before deciding. Plus, I might be upgrading to Note 8 if it's worth it. Your friend must be one rough user.

QUOTE(yupio @ Jul 12 2017, 11:24 AM) Wifi calling with U Mobile have been working with our S8/S8+ for a while. I have been using it all along. Check with U Mobile customer service if your Wifi Calling cannot be activated. One advantage of Wifi Calling is you can make calls to Malaysian numbers from overseas with Wifi and charged as local calls. Yup... Im doing that on my Iphone 7 +. But I have never tried it while roaming. One question, did you activate roaming and let it roam first before using wifi calling or turn off celular network while roaming to use wifi calling?

QUOTE(yupio @ Jul 12 2017, 11:55 AM) Whether you turn on roaming or not is irrespective. You only need to turn Wifi Calling ON and for S8/S8+, set preference to Wifi Calling over Cellular as well. And obviously you need to be connected to Wifi. If you want to be absolutely safe from being charged roaming fees, you can turn OFF both Internet Roaming as well as Mobile Call Roaming. I have always used umobile's data roaming pack but never tried its wifi calling. I will have a chance to try next week. Will update on the results then.

QUOTE(prabjit93 @ Jul 12 2017, 12:09 PM) For roaming, like in Singapore you have to choose Starhub MANUALLY and turn on data roaming for free 5GB international roaming. For wifi calling, you have to join other wifi connection. with Wifi calling you can call back Malaysia for free and other country with the normal charges. I have always used data roaming pack by selecting the UMobile's network partner in that particular country. What I want to ask is do we disable roaming or disable network totally to use wifi calling to make calls. Like on some airlines in Europe, in order to use their roaming on air in the airplane, you would still need to enable airplane mode on while connecting to the airplane's wifi to use wifi calling meaning you still need to turn network off. Because if we are roaming on the network, would the phone connect to wifi calling automatically?

QUOTE(yupio @ Jul 12 2017, 12:45 PM) Maybe you should try other wifi connections. Not sure if it is due to wifi compatibility issue. Usually, after i switched on wifi calling in settings and connected to wifi, the phone with wifi icon will appear automatically. You do not have to switch off ANY roaming at all however, you run the risk of your phone automatically switching back to roaming call should wifi calling connection fail to connect. I may be being paraniod, but I do not wanna incur roaming call charges lol. Same here. Would try again and update later.

QUOTE(dayfly @ Jul 13 2017, 04:19 PM) Sorry all sifu, maybe I ask something not related. I noticed my friend using xiaomi phone which build in an apps "mi remote controller" which can control device like air-con... Did our S8 or S8+ got any similar build in apps like this? Else, which others apps in play store will be recommended? Thanks ya... The S8 doesnt have any IR Blasters. So it wont work on older tvs and appliances that dont support wifi and bluetooth control.
