for those who are playing TBC with laptops, is it stable / relatively-lag free with laptops? and what are your laptop specs?

thinking of getting one. happy.gif since Blizz change the specs for TBC for desktop, am wondering how are the laptop fairing?

i'm looking at one that has Geforce Go 7400 graphic card with 1 GB RAM. Processor is Intel Centrino Duo.

I play on Windowed Mode with 1.5gb ddr2 ram. 1.8ghz centrino, no duo ; ;
250mb geforce card.

It runs just fine after I upgraded from 500 > 1.5gb ram. I can msn, listen to winamp, work on microsoft word, browse internet and have ventrilo open at the same time.

The laptop im using now cost like RM 5K+ tho QQ

thinking of getting Vaio C coz it's currently cheaper than a Dell MPS, believe it or not.

only thing is whether WoW will work on it or not.

edit : hmm...i'm mistaken. it's about the same as price as the DELL XPS. anyone playing on Vista with WoW facing any problems?

I am using 1.4 celeron 512mb x300 mobile 128mb, and it run fine on 800 xxx (forogt what resolution, its wide screen) except in city (shattr and orgm particularly worse) For bg only av caused problem when alot of people crumbled together. Raid is alright as now they reduce the number of people. But anyway my laptop is just super crappy tongue.gif

It shouldn't be a problem as long as the u got the require spec.

My WOW is running on a P3 866 desktop with 512ram and 32mb GForce2 mx card. No lag on a 20men raid. Not sure about 40men though.

The machine that ur thinking of buying is alot more better spec than mine, so it shouldn't be a prob.

haha! yeah true.

decided not to go for sony vaio c. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=111827

but getting a good DELL is still RM5K for that blasted card. have to rethink. and with DELL, need 3 yrs warranty since their laptops don't last for too long.

hmm...it's now a choice of a laptop, camcorder, nintendo wii, or smartphone. my gadget for the year smile.gif

<--
Toshiba SatelliteA80, 1.73ghz processing speed, 1.2gig of ram, radeonX300 SHARED 64mb memory.

40man, 20man, IF, SW, Shat City etc no lag at all.

The only important thing is the RAM. I was only using 512mb of RAM last time and it was LAGGY whenever I look around in IF. Now with 1.2gig it's all good.

So the moral is, don't bother much about video card. And save money and upgrade the RAM. I bought my one piece 1gig ram in Computer War for only RM400+.

Actually it lags abit in Shat City with my video card. So at the least just get a 64mb video card DEDICATED and you should be fine.

Playing at 1920x1200 at high. U need more ram than better card. 7400 should be good enuf with some eye candy off.
1gb ram is sufficient with very very slight lag sometimes. 1.5 or 2gb will be perfect.
Dell bad quality? mine has been almost 2 years now, dropped it before, drop 1kg stuff from a height of 2m onto the laptop straight..it still serving me good.
Most wow players, at least my guild mates use a dell or alienware for WoW. Probably Dell isn't so bad smile.gif But well if I have the cash I will go for the max out Vaio cos it looks so much better than my plain looking dell. Hah

I go onto wow from time to time at work on my sony sz34-gp. It's more than playable although i don't get 60fps - core2duo, Go 7400 and 1gb Ram.

It's also a great work laptop tongue.gif
