Hey guys, I want to ask something about Canon Powershot series.

The A460 compared with A530/540.

I noticed that the A530/540 has the manual focus, while the A460 does not.

How much of a difference in control is there when using manual focus? I find very little reviews on this matter.

This should help me to decide which one to buy. Thanks guys, any insights would be much appreciated.

compacts and prosumers manual focus is quite useless if you ask me.

But they serve their purpose if used properly. No doubt prosumers like the Panasonic FZ-30/ FZ-50 are the best type to do manual focusing.

agreed.. even in models like FZ20 where a manual focus ring is present,i don't find it useful at all cause it's not mechanically linked, thus the response of the ring is extremely slow, like when u turn it, u can feel the focusing mechanism lag .. only models with mechanically linked manual focus ring will give u the pleasure of manual focus.. smile.gif
