it's possible. perhaps they really use iPhone technology... or they might even drop iPod and focus on iPhone.

6th Generation iPod Tracking For Late 2007? Early 2008?
Users hoping for a refreshed widescreen iPod (without cellular capabilities as in the iPhone) will get their wish as early as the third calendar quarter of this year if a report from AppleInsider holds true. However, the site does note that the timing is dependent on the iPhone rollout and could be put off until early next year. Among the potential challenges believed to be facing Apple ahead of its sixth-generation iPod launch is a required margin of differentiation between the player and iPhone, both of which are expected to carry relatively similar price points upon availability. The site also mentions the possibility that lower NAND flash prices could pave way for Apple to deliver a 32 GB flash-based iPod with increased battery life and even sleeker design. The claim is similar to one in early February by analyst Jesse Tortora, who said that Apple would be moving to a totally flash-based lineup by the end of 2007. MacRumors Analysis: While the addition of a flash-based iPod is a very real possibility, we think it is very unlikely for Apple to decrease the storage capacity in their high-end iPods and thus cut out users that have larger music/movie libraries. A speculative solution would be to have one model be flash based and a higher-capacity model be HDD based. |

QUOTE(cRazYee @ Apr 1 2007, 02:13 AM) dont think is this 1 Are you reading at all, or just looking at the pretty pictures? The text directly below the image that shows the fake 6th generation iPod explains that the picture was a hoax. It was a Photochop and nothing more.cuz how come there is Chinese word at the side? it suppose design in california.... Prototype must be made in US QUOTE However, less than a week after this picture made the rounds of all the tech news sites, a video appeared on YouTube showing exactly how this picture was made. The video, while demonstrating some masterful Photoshop skills, pretty much closed the case on the small chance that this pic was real. Besides, cazed, why are you linking to a blog entry from June 2006? This is clearly outdated. Hope for multi-touch in the next iteration of the iPod, along with SSD to replace conventional harddrives. Widescreen video playback, touchscreen interface, and longer battery life due to the transition to NAND SSD. This post has been edited by yetieater: Apr 12 2007, 01:18 AM |

I hope they continue releasing new ipods instead of focusing on the iPhone, for there will be many users who dislike the concept of merging the ipod together with a phone.
Like me. |

i think ipod will continue despite having iphone.
iphone is only up to 6 or 8gb if im not mistaken. i would prefer two seperate devices, rather than merging it. |
