David Hayter Not involved in MGS Movie?!!!Hell No!!
QUOTE Metal Gear Solid Movie Exclusive NAY for me. comrades? Will David Hayter be involved? by Stax May 14, 2007 - The one question that fans have consistently asked us ever since the news broke that Konami and Sony Pictures were teaming to turn the videogame Metal Gear Solid into a feature film is whether screenwriter-actor David Hayter would be involved with the project. Hayter voiced the game's protagonist, Solid Snake. Now IGN can exclusively report that Hayter will not be a part of the film. We have confirmed that Hayter pitched his take on the project to Konami but they have opted not to hire him to script and/or produce it. Hayter even penned a treatment for the proposed big-screen version but, alas, the powers-that-be passed on it. An insider who has read Hayter's treatment advised us that his take was "Metal Gear as the Apocalypse Now of the digital age, with Snake at the center of a swirling whirlpool of Genomic/military madness." Since voicing Solid Snake, Hayter has carved out a second career for himself as a screenwriter, beginning with Bryan Singer's X-Men. His screenplay adaptation of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel Watchmen is being revised by Alex Tse and director Zack Snyder for the long-in-development feature film. MGS Rereleased!!
![]() Konami Celebrates 20 Years Of Metal Gear With Cash-in Re-releases 1,295 Views According to Japanese gaming mag Weekly Famitsu, by way of IGN, Konami is looking to tap into two decades of Metal Gear nostalgia by re-releasing a number of its Metal Gear Solid titles for the PlayStation, PlayStation 2 and PSP with new 20th anniversary packaging this summer. The re-releases include: * Metal Gear Solid (PS) for 1500 yen * Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty (PS2) for 1800 yen * Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater (PS2) for 2800 yen * Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops (PSP) for 2800 yen Konami will also release a Metal Gear Solid Collection boxed set for 6900 yen ($57 USD) containing all of the above, plus, one might assume, some nice bonus materials. Let's hope that Konami USA sees fit to grace us with a special anniversary package as well. Michael McWhert Lets hope the NTSC UC version is going to be avaliable!! QUOTE Backward compatibility Sony stated that every PlayStation and PlayStation 2 game that observes its respective system's TRC (Technical Requirements Checklist) would be playable on PS3 at launch. SCE president Ken Kutaragi asked developers to adhere to the TRC to facilitate compatibility with future PlayStations, stating that the company was having some difficulty getting backward compatibility with games that had not followed the TRCs. It has been confirmed (image) that initial PS3 units include the CPU/rasterizer combination chip used in the slim PS2 (EE+GS) to achieve backward compatibility.[45] European launch units shipped without the EE component, instead relying on software emulation for the Emotion Engine.[46] The backward compatibility function is region-locked.[47] Japanese and American PlayStation 3 released in near future will also lack the Emotion Engine.[48] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ps3 sad but true.. |
