Anyone care to share some insights on benefits of cloud mining vs holding coins?

Have about 2 btc now since I started trading last month with 0.4btc last month, interested to invest some in cloud mining and start earning some passive income. No need to keep an eye on the markets all day and less tiring. laugh.gif

QUOTE(SpongeY @ Jul 14 2017, 04:55 AM)
Hi fellow members, I have been reading this thread and it has taken my full attention! Especially Ray, denim and jacks' persuasive posts.

I am in the midst of ordering about 20 units of L3+ From bitmain to be hosted in my own warehouse but after reading, I'm torn on whether to host it myself or at GiggaWatt.

My question is, if I were to want my machines returned to me say after a year of mining at their facility, is that possible? What are their terms of returning of our own miners?

Also, as I am new to mining (less than a month but very excited to start), as I was thinking about how to pay bitmain, since I do not own any BTC or LTC or any crypto at the moment, will the local banks like maybank allow a foreign TT or bank wire to Bitmain/giggawatt if the amount exceeds 50 or 100k? If they block it, how do I actually go about purchasing these miners? Thank you and sorry for the noob questions lol
*
Unpopular opinion, but I'm a paranoid person so I'd rather pay extra for shipping and stuff and host them myself. I'd be happy to cloud mine if its just buying hash power, but since this involves real machines and GigaWatt is new, I'd rather have the machines where I can see them. But 20 of them will make quite a noise lol. laugh.gif

Is mining ETC profitable at the moment? If so, which service should I use to get a better rate? Thinking of using hashflare lifetime scrypt mining, am I right?

Still waiting for 30 ltc from polo to transfer out. Bittrex transferred out in seconds. That'll make it 170 MHS in total

Started trading last month from 0.4btc up to 2btc but lost some in the red sea. Thought I'll just retire from trading and get a passive income, bit tired of tracking the markets for now. Maybe take a break for a month then sell my contracts to trade again if I'm in the mood. sweat.gif

raynman u reinvest all your returns on hashnest? For the next step I'm thinking of getting an L3 now and host it myself since I have an empty shop lot and can tamper with the electric meter so electricity is pretty much free

Then how do I calculate the roi and earning %? Can't seems to find an easier formula for it tho

Refer to the spreadsheets by current miners. For me assuming prices and contract prices remain constant, ROI is about 6 months if you don't reinvest.

If you have the necessary infrastructure and low electricity costs, by all means host your own miner.

By the way, you should get an L3+, not an L3.  smile.gif

The maintenance/electricity cost is only around 3 to 4% now.

You can wait until it hits about 75%.

Do you know how long you need to wait? smile.gif

I'm guessing 2 years

If litecoin pumps to $70 after aug 1, will contract prices go down or up? Kinda weird now coz since LTC price tanking by right contract prices should go down since payout is less. I guess it's up coz of the popular demand

Any thoughts guys?
