Exora tyres are 205/55 R16

What tyre should I buy? I want quite and long lasting... These can?

http://www.lazada.com.my/bridgestone-ecopi...sc=MTIj&rb=9010
http://www.lazada.com.my/bridgestone-turan...n-13242437.html
http://www.michelin.com.my/MY/en/tires/pro...rimacy-3st.html
https://www.lazada.com.my/continental-conti...n-13442125.html

I am tempted to try the michelin one... but the price is pushing my limit laa...

Current stock tyre only last 44k kms... is that normal?

I am looking for value rather than price... a bit expensive ok if can last longer... but got ceiling limit also lah... let's say RM455 is the max price.

But why buy expensive stuff if cheaper tyres last just as long right?... so that is why I am looking for advise here.

many people confuse and rather ignorance about tyres. remember tyres are the only thing that have contact with road surface. if you less speeding, yes you can go for cheaper tyres.

Your stock only 44k km already can see wires. Hows your driving behaviour? you like speeding? corner?

And stock tyres usually they are using high thread wear, and 44k is so fast.

Any tyre that long last = less rolling resistance. Thus less grip, and low speed.

tyre like 003 with thread wear of 220, very good in dry grip but most will last less than 50k km.

tyre like xm2, thread wear of 420, can go to 65k km.

The also depend on your driving behaviour, alignment and maintenance.

And there will be no such tyre with low price and excellence grip and long last. this 3 cant be together....

btw, you can try
-ps4
-d05
-z914
-003
-701
-uc6
-cc6
-j5
-xm2

generally, more expensive tyres like michelin are better in quality and performance-grip/handling etc
michelin actually can foit your requirement for the primacy 3st and also can get below at rm 350+-

Hi thanks for the info... I am really noob when comes to tyres (or cars generally lol)... I am a terrible driver... average 120 kmph only... sometimes 140 maybe... rarely go above 150 kmph
I dont understand the thread wear you speak about... where can I see the 220 or 420?... I only know how to check production date only.
The PS4 you mentioned is michellin PS4 right? It is sport tyre... sure noisy one... I am looking for comfort..
The Dunlop D05 looks promising... but I think gonna try Conti CC6 this time?...

Quiet and long-lasting, huh? Could I recommend the Toyo Nanoenergy 3 or Dunlop D05? They both offer a good value for your money without breaking the bank.

I think the Nanoenergy 3 would last longer than the D05s but the D05 should be slightly more comfortable.

You better check your alignment properly.

40+k km is really low for average speed. Too fast.

There is TRACTION - THREAD WEAR - TEMPERATURE. Its around the tyre. ( Near production date also )

Some tyre isn't infront but its at the back. Its depend on tyre makers.

PS4 wont be noisy I suppose.... Its the best out there....

Re003 is noisy. I am using it lol. Very noisy.

CC6 is comfort tyre.

J5 also comfort tyre.

Not recommend XM2 that much... For me the tyre is so hard. Last for 60k km for what lol. You still need to change your rubber every 3 years.

Current tyre size? Check on the sides of your tyres. It should go with numbers like 225 45 17 for example.

Tyre size as OP posted - 205/55 R16

I found klinkar.com website recommend these Dunlop ones. Are these ok or there are better choice for the same price?

Based on my tire price tableas below,

Name Tire Size Price(RM)
Kumho Ecsta PS31 205/55R16 272
Toyo Nano Energy NE03 205/55R16 288
Goodyear Assurance TripleMax 2 205/55R16 290
Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 205/55R16 310
Continental ComfortContact 6 CC6 205/55R16 325
Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport 205/55R16 326
Michelin Energy XM2+ 205/55R16 388
Continental UC6 205/55R16 (UC6) 395
Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE004 205/55R16 400
Michelin Primacy 4st 205/55R16 455

Dunlop J6 at RM 258 sounds like a very good bargain for a mid range solution.

But from the list above, Triple max 2 at RM 290 also looks good. Ideally XM2+ would the best option at RM 388 smile.gif
