QUOTE(alijoe @ Mar 29 2007, 12:43 AM) is Vista quite stable now? My rig is old: P4 631 3.0 Ghz 2 Gig DDR2 667 RAM Aopen Nvidia 6600 256MB DDR2 160 GB HDD 250 GB HDD Will vista ultimate (i only have this edition - got it free) runs smoothly or at least my rig will survive? You should try this Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/...adeadvisor.mspxAnyways, it looks okay to me. Though it's advisable to have a dual core CPU, your rig will run just fine IMO. Just curious, how did you get your Windows Vista Ultimate for free? I think most of the DVD burner in market nowadays bundled with older version of Nero, which isn't Vista Compatible just yet.
You can get newer version, or use alternative like Ashampoo

QUOTE(zero_hour @ Jun 3 2007, 05:17 PM) anyone know which version of Nero burning software work for vista??? v7.8.5.0 or later should support Vista Anyway, managed to *make* my Windows Vista Home Premium to support dreamscene, don't ask me how, go google Nothing really special other than slowing down the startup and consuming more resource. It is cool, but whether or not it is worth the price, you take the call

pikacu: That's a retail Vista Home Basic For the price, you can check the price list here http://www.softwareexchange.com.sg/my/pricelist.pdfI doubt Vista Home Basic is a popular choice among buyers because of its relatively scaled-down functionalities

From a neowin forumer QUOTE(Athernar) XP stinks whether you want to admit it or not. The truth is XP is not what it was expected to be. It did not deliver and 2000 is a better OS. The tests results don't lie.
