Wowoweee, sooooooooooooo many issues with windows Vista. I envied my friend when he bought his home basic edition. Now... not so much.
I want directx 10, I want windows media player 11, I want better security, I want stability.
But I absolutely dont want to stab my eyes with a fork when vista decided to rape me without a condom.
So ....... should I wait for Vista to weed out the bugs and compatibility issues and for the major component/software manufacturers to catch up with vista?
Before I dive into unknown territories?
For RM305, it's quite cheap though.
which version is better? home basic or premium?
FYI: I've tried IE7, so much bugs I can open an insect muzium with it.
Vista overall is ok with recent hardware, minus the IE7 which its UI load up so sluggishly, the icon are so SMALL to click to, and STILL NO any "highlight as you search" find feature in firefox.

And its decision to lock up the UI (which probably MS want to prevent any malware to modify the UI toolbar) is really a bad idea. And do you guys notice that, whenever you drag a link to an empty space on the tab, it will open the link in the existing window, unlike FF which open them in a new window...and i hate that...really, and not to mention it cant feature a bookmark folder in the toolbar for easy access to favorites.
Security wise, it may be better than IE6, but feature wise, I give a thumb down.

seriously, you're using Vista for what? DX10 games? AFAIK, there's no available DX10 games
yet, and you're gonna need nVIDIA GeForce8 series or upcoming ATi's R600 to use DX10 feature...IMO, i rather to use WinXP with Vista looks, less headache...
to use XP with all those vista eyecandies, will use up more RAM compare to having it natively in vista

Well, that's why I'm asking.
It's not like I've decided to buy it already.
And what's this about Digital rights Management that shuts down your monitor to prevent viewing copyrighted multimedia content?
that would sux like a vacuum cleaner.

Which more better? Vista 32 bit or 64 bit?
64 bit has lots of unsolved issues, and it simply make your 2 GB of RAM looks like a midget, 64 bit OS gonna eat more RAM than any 32 bit OS out there.
