did u install klite mega codec pack?

if u used that codec pack..i think u can select rmvb codecs..

then if u open with windows media player 11 maybe no probs?

just a thought..

y dont u just use vlc player.
change the video output to opengl...presto...

agree.
since Vista require quite high system requirement, consider whether ur system can meet the requirement or not 1st. I think RAM and capacity are the main problems...
for me, Vista is better than XP. More smooth, more stronger security, look nicer, more easy to use. smile.gif
*
thats the first i've heard.
slower than xp.
been wasting a few days already trying to optimize everything and checking whether everthing works or not...
so nvidia really screwed up with their drivers ...
should be shot.
one thing though vista really shows difference of raid 0 Sata II vs raptor.

hmm but priority to running vista should be
1.RAm... amount rather than speed... also 1:1 ratio higher bandwidth for Intel Systems... and then finding the sweetspot on the bus speed
2. would HDD speed. .....raid 0 really takes off here
3.Graphic Card Mem
4.Last but not Least CPU.

all this is based on running aero... especially with dreamscene
u can download hd quality dreamscene from here.
for those who are running 1920x1200 monitor really cool with these..take note freakin large so mae sure u have lots of mem...as it is for me windows with all the services takes up 1.1gb... so ure going need a 64 bit system for this

Well, i got another question here. blush.gif

Now, I already activated my Vista, so if let say I format my computer, when i reinstall back Vista, do I need to activate again the windows? Or it will automatic activate since I ald activated last time...
P/S : The Vista I bought is neither OEM nor Retail....
*
well activation is manual or auto depending on when u reinstall when the asked u to insert the cd key.. there is a tick there saying auto activation upon connection right...
if u unclick that then u have to activate ureself.

hmm i think many ppl are not checking the graphic card temp
so let me post here for u all too freak out...
its a high res..
check the side bar....freaking hell look at the diode.. thats the tempp...81 for the first card and 75 for the second...

even for windows xp at stock fan speed the temp was only 69 for first 65 for second
thats how much all this aero is straining the card...

do you try disabling aero and see how much it goes?
Mine is still the same as it was in XP  blink.gif  blink.gif

disabling aero i get about the same as xp.
the driver for nvidia card clearly has some problem

ok weird part...

using 8800gtx sli.. windows ultimate downloads nvidia 101.4
using 8800gts windows home premium downloads nvidia 101.7

go figure..
also dude no offence to ure card.. but i want to know feedback from ppl using either the 8800gtx card or the x1900xtx...
cause this two are freakin hot..

actually always thought esata is such a waste on the io...untill now...

Had you guys try out the DreamScene from Windows Ultimate Extra already? If not, GO TRY IT NOW !!!!!!

I jsut installed this morning via Windows Update and I never bother open it. Jsut now I am quite bore and I try on it, OH MY GOD IT'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFUL !!!!!

It's like full motion dekstop background in movie format. UNlike the old one we have in XP which is like fram by frame and eat out lots of CPU power. This one Microsoft claims that new technology will allow much better quality (YES IT'S) animated background WITHOUT consuming too much CPU resource. YAY now my background is a little waterfall, so beeeeeeaaaaaaatufuuuuuuuul !!!!! rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif rclxm9.gif
