Prolly due to the fact that my HDD is a SATA1 5400RPM disk and i was doing some torrenting so the score is lower.

What do you mean pointless? I'm using Vista and aside from some minor faults, it runs perfectly with all my software.

What you can do is get Speedfan. It minimizes to your TaskBar, short of getting one on the Sidebar. An alternative until coding for WInbond + Gadget is done.

You're better off with an OEM license on a laptop. Cheaper plus laptop's don't get their insides changes often if at all.
