You can use 3rd party software to clone and migrate your OS from HDD to SSD

Can try using AOMEI Partition Assistant or EaseUS Partition. Both works great. Just clone mine to SSD on new laptop and keep the original HDD in enclosure case for backup.

U should use cloning software to switch from HDD to SSD. I use EaseUs Partition for cloning, quite easy to use and simple to understand.

Use Acronis True Image, used and tested totally work but have to pay. Or create system image, use the recovery USB and then restore from it, this is all in Windows 10 and free. There is a thread on this somewhere with the pro and cons, I have tried it a couple of times. No complains on Windows 10
