What an amazing free kick from Arnold. Happy to have someone good at set pieces and he's so young!

What happens when Clyne is back though. I don't see any good set piece takers so far after Suarez and Gerrard. Coutinho is good at free kicks, but not dangerous with corners. :/

How do you know that it was for punctuality?  I mean, would the manager be so damn mean if it is only for punctuality? IMO that is rather mean and I do not see Klopp being like that.

My guess is that Sakho did something rather serious.
*
But why is hot shipped off yet?

I'm genuinely curious. If Klopp has no plan for him, we can use the money from him rather than letting him rot and getting on the payroll. A player like him can get a contract easily no?

Something really weird is going on.

I think Palace offered but the price was too low.

Probably the club is expecting higher price. Plus, we do not need the Sakho money to effect any of our transfer plans. This is judging from our Kieta offer.
*
I don't know what his wages are, but definitely not worth keeping him. Say he is at 100,000 a week, that's 400,000 a month, 2.4M in 6months. How long should we keep him?

we didn't sign a single CB, we got 4 competition and based on our injury record, i rather keep him. if we can afford to pay 60m for vvd, what is 4.8m?
*
4.8M is alot of money can be put elsewhere even if not for new players. If you are familiar with finances, 4.8M pounds is a lot of money and can be used to upgrade shit loads of stuff. Heck, even donating to unfortunate people will bring more good to the club.

Another awesome win. Going forward with maximum commitment punishing Arsenal's lazy defending. We defended really well too.

So far, LFC/FSG hasn't bridged past 50m a player

Which is extremely good business I believe. Who doesn't love FSG?

Keeping the club financially healthy and getting good players as requested by Klopp.

Wow, we won so much this transfer window.

Signed they players we wanted except VVD? Don't think we missed out on anyone.

And we keep Coutinho till Jan at least. Not too bad for a shit owner like FSG.

I think we should have signed VVD.

I dont know how Couts will react. But we'll see. He'll have to earn the respect from ground zero.
*
I agree with you, but then again I think it is 1 of the best transfer windows for us for a few seasons now, at least for me.

And there is so much potential on the youngsters and bench like Solanke, Grujic, Woodburn, Kent. So excited.

with the signing of ox, we have quite numbers of players who can sprint.

cant wait to see mane, salah, ox together.

gonna be a hell for defender
*
Don't forget quick feet of Firmino, Lallana, Sturridge and of course Coutinho. He's still part of us until next window opens.

Lemar and Van Dijk. Robertson wasn't our first choice either, not even second.

I give this window a C+ or B- at best for the mess we made out of the Van Dijk saga. Failing to strengthen one of the weakest positions in the team meant this isn't a good window by any means, just average at best. Salah is a good signing and so is Keita but he isn't coming until next year. Robertson, Solanke and Ox are the type of signing we wouldn't bat an eyelid had we failed to land them.
Kent is out on loan so technically not on the bench. Harry Wilson is still here though but he seemed to have stagnated over the past couple of years. Ojo and Ejaria are probably closer to the first team than Wilson is.
*
Well, it's all about benchmarking at this point. I would like to know what is your A+ transfer window of any team.

But we still manage to secure Keita and a surprise Ox.

Edit - Coutinho has been registered to UCL squad. He won't be able to play UCL if he joins Barca. Looks very possible he will stay till the end of the season?

According to uefa rules, he can still play for Barca during the knock-out stage if he is not fielded during the gruop stage.
Meaning, if Kloop really wanna retain him for the season, he will play him in the ucl group stage.
*
Ahhh. But playing him, will also mean that Barca can negotiate for a lower price IF they come knocking and Coutinho wants to leave again!

I feel we should have sold Couts. For that amount I think we're making upwards of 500% profits.

It's easy to forget that since we're playing well he is dispensable, on the other hand having him moping around would mean the next time Barca comes calling it'll be nowhere near what his current bid. Let's not forget his integration back into the team and how this would upset the dynamics.

Also, is anyone focusing on the well-being of Firmino? He and Couts seems awfully close and I fear this might affect him too.
*
Not too worried about Firmino, I feel he is not the type of player who wants to be known as a striker. Coutinho on the other hand plays magical balls to their world class striker.

And Liverpool is already a good upgrade from Hoffenheim. May take another 2-3 seasons maybe for him to go to a bigger club.

Ya, that clearly shows that he has planned to move on to bigger stage at some point, hence what I said.
*
The difference is he was even played when he was not on top of his form. Klopp trusted him and he paid Klopp back with some stellar performances.

I think it is just human nature to move on to bigger things and bigger challenges. Everyone does that, even us continue to seek better job/position and leave the current jobs. Most players who come to Liverpool also the same. Like leaving Arsenal (lol) for a bigger challenge.

It is they way they leave that pisses me off. ie McManaman, Owen, Torres and maybe Coutinho. But they are all forgiven after 2 seasons when we realize we get better players after they leave.

2-0 and 5-0 could make a huge difference at the end of the season when the goal difference counts.

Actually I do not mind Klopp taking Salah off if it means solidifying our defence. But yeah we all what happened.

That red card incident reminds me of the one just happened two weeks ago when Salah stole the ball away from Bellerin and then went on to score. Wonder what happened if Salah was just tad slower? Mane was really unfortunate. In that particular scenario, he had no choice but to go after the ball because it was a big opportunity. But like someone said before, in those situations, those who use head will have the favour in their ways. Sad but true.
*
Sad but true, if it happened to Mignolet/Karius, we'd be screaming our heads off for a red.

But I just thought Klopp could have just defended 10 men, but he decided that we can still nick something and went 3-5-2. Seems like it is all or nothing for him. I'd take a 2-0 than a 5-0 all day.

Not only goal difference but morale of players/staff and many others may be affected for the next game.

Coutinho was bought during January as well........

I'm sure if you look hard enough then there must be players.

Like you said, even summer window proved to be difficult for us as well. The main problem is see us identifying the players and alternatives.

Same goes for CL. People said we must get in to CL so we can attract better players! But look what happened to us this summer? Only Salah is deemed to be the only quality signing. The rest is just meh.

Coutinho's set piece is God. We don't have enough set piece taker who could score goals. So that makes Coutinho even more important.
*
Calling his free kicks god is over the top. It's good at the very best. He does have good free kicks, but set pieces includes corner kicks and indirect free kicks. We rarely score from those.

Beckham, Pirlo, Ronaldinho, are the gods of set pieces and Juninho Pernambucano is for freekicks.

I meant God compared to the rest of our squad. And I meant free kicks too.
*
Ya the rest of the team is pretty crap at free kicks let alone corners. We really need to score more from corners. Every time we get a corner, it is as good as having a goal kick.

What  kind of question asked by the Journalist?  doh.gif
*
Even worse is that the last question about love is asked by someone who is familiar with Klopp and LFC Media team.

I think the questions asked in these press conferences are pretty standard and by standard, i mean stupid questions and nothing in depth. But this is really awful and translator seems like she was brought in last minute and kept talking while Klopp was talking even after the LFC media guy signaled to her to keep quiet when Klopp is speaking. lol
