I am driving vios year 2012. Today when foreman replace new battery unfortunately car engine sudden off.

After the battery was replace, i found car idling was low and the car is shaking or sudden off. I think this is so called ECU reset. But please correct me if i am wrong.

After drive for half an hour, car idling seem back to normal.. just the clock and radio setting is gone.

So my question is, does ECU reset will impact any other system failure or malfunction if i didnt send car back to toyota for tuning? Or is consider back to normal d after idling work fine??

Thank much for replying.

unless the car owner manual specified, car battery change should be done with engine off to protect the sensitive circuit but nowaday punya mech act smartass and do battery change with engine on for every car, giving the excuse to preserve ECU memory and when mishap like urs happened, the ECU parameter is wiped anyway. say again, preserve what?? lol

i feel you bro
I encountered that with my myvi too
they said preserve ECU parameter la bla bla
then change half way, aircon compressor kicks in, massive voltage drop and battery is not thr to condition the circuit. GG.. engine died
only then they started to look at each other with stupid faces
got rough idling for a hours, drive like shit also

Ecu now got learning curve, sometime after oil servicing u can reset the ecu yourself. Fuel milage will improve alot.
