i give them apple..
that's all...last week i gave them gerber applesauce...
should i bring them to the vet??..
and if i should bring it to the vet..please advise me where is the best place.

This is really disheartening. Who taught that it would be sufficient to feed only apple?

You can get so much resources on the internet and still you are only feeding apple?

It is good that they are Resting In Peace now coz free from your further torture.

Please be responsible to do research before getting that "oh so cuteeEEeee" pet!!!!!

Only Apple and gerber applesauce = DEATH.

There has been so much information being posted on this thread that could save the 2 lives.

Don't you even know that there are forumers here selling the glider mix that can be the staple food?

I am lost for words...If I were you, I'll forget about keeping exotic pets.

Total lost...

CFP,
What material you use as the wire mesh? One superb glider paradise you have there. What about the tray? What are you going to use at the bottom?

The best is stick with proven recipe. No point use the glider as guinea pig to test out what food can be taken. By the time you finish testing, not the food expire but the Sugar Glider also expired....

Very easy one....just give glider mix....and then give other proven stuff like mealworms....

Hi there,

the 3 months old baby is the female's baby or u bought from somewhere?

You see, the young male thinks that the 1 year old female is the mother that is why trying to cling on her like how when they were young.

If this baby male is her baby, in-breeding may happen which is hight not recommended. And later on if u decide to separate them after bonding, it will be very stressful for them

Good Luck

wanna ask for opinion....
i have a tamed female which is 1 years old, and laterly i have a baby bout 3 month old male. is it ok for me to mix them in a cage?
(it seems that they are ok with it., but sometimes the male is so aggresive until my female scare him. she rather didn't want to sleep in the coconut when the male is angry.) haha...

anyone got name suggestion for a male glider? hmmm... got it today, and still crabs a lot. kinda scared, but its with another mate now, they get along ASAP we put them together. less than 10 min, mine and kubiz glider sleep in the same coconut, making out with each other. haha... oh by the way, both of them are males. haha... very g@y. well, wanna ask wat type of baby food is good for them and also wat type of dog food should i use. should i use the solid or liquid form?

oh, if u ask me to search for the 1st page, i already did read it and reading it now, but cant seem to see any baby or dog food written. but the guy i got from feed them with these.he uses baby food by the brand gerbes. i dont have any fridge to store this, so i'm looking for a solid or powder form of baby food which i can feed, or dog food? hope some of u can enlighten me on this. will ask him personally if i dont get aid from here. thanks again.

Jon,

Please allow me to have the last say.

It matters not whether you are rich or poor to have pets.

It matters if u take good care of the pets that u are keeping.

It is about making the right choices. Sugar Glider thread has been here for so freaking long and a lot of information has been shared. But be ignorant and suddenly asking the most fundamental question about the diet is not acceptable.

It is not that I discourage newbies from asking questions as that is how we grow. But, what u asked initially is a total shock to me as well.

Everyone is here to help but you must first help yourself.

Whether you have a fridge or not, u must provide some sort of mix due to the reason that in the WILD, SGs thrive on eucalyptus sap which WE DO NOT HAVE here. We have a closer variation of it which is the mix most of the forumers here are so willingly to provide their service of making them if you are not taking the pro active step to make it your own.

If you have made enough research, you would have known how to make the mix yourself and I believe you can make daily servings without the need of a fridge. It does not cost a lot.

Good luck!!!!

cfp,

chill lar bro....

relax....

give chance lar....didn't we all started somewhere a long time ago.

As long people have intention to learn let us try to educate.

I know it is for the love of pets we are all here. At least that's one thing common that kept us together as fellow forum members.

We should stand united only to flame those who are stubborn and hard headed.

Let's not get personal and discriminate. Not everyone is born into rich family and have privilege to keep pets.

Jon,

It does not mean I am encouraging you to further practice your ignorance. You have a lot of hard work to do. A life is in your hands. Do have some buffer ready so that you can handle unexpected situations. If you fail this time, try to steer away from exotics to get a good headstart at keeping pets.

People,

Many a time when we encounter people in distress, we are caught in between whether to help the OWNER or the PET itself.

And many a time it is for the LOVE of the PET that we advice. Because without proper knowledge the OWNER will not be able to save the PET.

So that being said, please be reminded that when people response to you, it does not necessary mean they are condoning to what you are doing. They ONLY have your PET's best interest in mind.

PET can be seen as commodities/tools for OWNER to have a better LIFE. The fact is, we really owe a lot to our PETS. Humans are always guilty of using them as a TOOL.

I am not against breeding. But we must all acquire the knowledge and most importantly, be very certain of all the consequences that awaits us.

I am not implementing that everyone have the intention to breed even if you have the intention to breed, I only hope that we ensure the quality of our actions. What PETS are we going to pass on to our fellow comrades and of course, our next generation.

That being said, I do not wish to flame anyone. But the problem is, we sometimes need to be cruel to be kind.

After all, it is for the best of our BEST FRIENDS - not only dog in particular. All of you would agree with me that, you all love your Sugar Gliders very much right?

Just imagine one day, they are wiped out from the face of the earth. How would you feel?

Let's go for QUALITY.

P/S: And with all due respect, it is plainly sangterap.

The logic was, since some may intention to breed and contribute to the overpopulation, just felt that better we over populate with good quality stocks instead of sickly ones. Coz we will never be able to control other people from having intentions to breed. So if their urges are stronger than the gliders, just do it with a little consideration.....

Got it?
QUOTE(krynzpeaches @ May 24 2007, 10:07 AM)
Sangterap, I don't think gliders will be wiped out the face of the earth pretty soon. There's an article on Glider University recently saying that there's just too many breeders out there that they might even cause overpopulation of gliders that could lead to a lot of unwanted ones and such. That's why they advise to neuter the males if people intend to keep a male and a female. Some breeders in the US even, only sells neutered males to prevent them from breeding. Plus neutering the male can reduce the smell and baldspot. However I have not yet found any vet that could do it here. I am still searching because the best method would be thru using laser as it heals faster. But as you would know, a lot of typical malaysian is against neutering with the reason it's cruel. When I found a vet that can perform neutering on gliders, I will let everyone know, but I bet 9 out of 10 will be against it. Peace.

ohhhHHhhhh YeahHHHhhHHhhhh......

mine definitely go nuts with plastic noise......

One day came back after shopping. Then taking out stuff from the plastic bags....

and realized that they were going crazy in the cage......

QUOTE(crazymouse_yyh @ May 24 2007, 05:25 PM)
I wonder, the gliders you guys have, are they afraid of plastic bag sound? Coz when I babysat InfiniteVoid's gliders, they go crazy and jump everywhere in the cage when I crumple up plastic.... but Kiah don't care. Kiah is like so immune to sounds.... dog bark, screeches, motor noise, blender noise..... if someone played drums next to her cage I think she will just go on sleeping LOL.

sigh...

then again, nothing can be done. Only those seen pictures will know but how many potential buyers come into LYN. furthermore, besides certain threads, some threads are really hopeless filled with people who wants to make quick bucks too. If we can't even stop within this small community, what else can we do I wonder.

It is a hopeless and losing battle at the end of the day...

Sorry to sound to pessimistic but that's the cold hard fact....
