He's giving you to meaning of a pair, he's not saying you CAN put them together.

A male and female pair is ok, but they will breed. A female pair is the best.

If you can't devote 12 hours to your glider in terms of bonding, why get a glider in the first place? Ppl get them to bond with them and have them as a near 24 hour pet that's easy to bring around. I'm quite sick of this crap, flaming can be done via PM, threads should stay clean for other ppl.

Santerap, I don't think he wanted a colony, but a pair.

But then again, you said you don't want to breed but is it because of your financial position that's stopping you from getting a pair? Please explain this to me.

You can send to someone to babysit it for awhile. Maybe you could have thought of getting the glider after your papers.

You don't really need to spend a full 12 hours everyday, but try to as frequent as you can. Sometimes when I don't bring Miko out with me, Ben's family members would play with her for a couple of hours. It's stimulation and interaction that's very important. But of course, you should be the primary one to bond and play with it.

Then you can try getting another male joey and be sure there are no females around at all. Not even something that has the scent of a female glider.

I'm not sure bout coconut, but sugar cane can, as long as not too much.

Turtle food? You should have read up before getting them.

Suggest you get 2 females, less smelly and won't fight when there's a male around like how 2 males would when a female is around. Should get one first and bond to it, the second one should come a few months later.

Why not bring it to work? Then you can have 1 and bond to it, they don't need another sg as a companion if they have u.

But before buying, you should consider whether you will have enough time and commitment as they have lifespans of 15 or so years.

Pet Family having 40% sale of exo terra stuff. Flexariums too. biggrin.gif

Don't get joeys from pet safari. They may look ok, but their health is quite bad. Unless you get it soon after the supplier drops it off.

Held one of their babies before, looked fluffy, but when I actually felt the body, was like a bag of bones.

All they feed there is apple and baby food, almost nothing but water and not what a growing baby needs.

How bad is it? I'm afraid the pictures aren't very clear. If the testicle looks just popping out a bit, but not raw and no blood, then you can leave it as it will heal on it's own. But if the glider has trouble walking and it's serious, then maybe you can try to bring it to the vet to remove the ball?

But vet expertise here are not very well equipped to anaesthetise small animals, so you may end up losing your glider. But if you bring it to the clinic in Bangsar, they may be able to help as they use gas, which is safer than general anaesthesia. But do be prepared if your glider doesn't wake up if you take this option.

I'm in a bit of a fix with helping you, but you can either
1. Leave it as it is if it's not serious.
2. Chop his ball off.
3. Stitch it again, which I think is quite useless and stressful if he's just gonna chew it off again.

Anyway, your glider is missing? Try to look into tight dark spots that the fella might have gone into. Hope it's not like Miko, climbed my room and tried to come in through the upstairs window. lol

Heard more and more ppl are getting even up to 300 pairs for breeding.

One idea I have is to have permits and limit the amount of wild gliders harvested, but even so, This is afterall, Malaysia. Permits can be bught just like that and bribery knows no bounds. As long as there's someone willing to take the bribe, there's no telling how many the one person who's willing to pay can bring in. They may even bulk everything from one person, not needing to get permits themselves.

I think gliders should be licensed more strictly. Even though there are some ways to get around my idea, at least it helps stop ignorant ppl from easily buying WC gliders and start a sg factory knowing nuts about their care and needs.

If your mix is fine, you can feed as much as he wants to take. They know when to stop, so you don't have to limit his staple. Just dont overload on mealies and seeds.

Vio : Don't get antiseptic from the pharmacy. Go to the vet and get some iodine, soak a cotton bud and gently apply on his would. But it's it's very dry and scabbed over, then no need. But it's best to get some iodine from the vet anyway, just in case.

Pet Safari is like that. Like most Pet Stores, they want to let ppl see and touch, so that they will feel compelled to buy, especially impulsive ppl. They don't care if it stresses the glider, as long as it doesn't kill it, they will do it for the sake of earning money. If you ask me, the supplier is worse than the pet store. They shouldn't even sell them off at such a young age.

Just a short survey, would anyone be interested if I were to make a custom 'Cricket Chowder'?

So for those who do not own cats and dogs or can't stand the mess the crickets make when they drag pieces of kibble everywhere and not finishing it, causing it to stale or grow mold in some unseen corner.

The cricket chow contains a few brands of high quality cat food, oat bran, chicken feed pellets, alfalfa pellets, fish pellets, wheatgerm, vitamin and calcium supplements. Not sure whether to add goat's milk as it will be more expensive if I do.

The protein is good for gut-loading and the mixture is powderized so the crickets cannot drag it anywhere and has to eat it from the bowl.

If the response is good then I will start a sale thread.

Free from perservatives and artificial stuff.

Always the best for our suggies, rodents and reptiles. smile.gif
