Hey there

Woohoo.. my first post!

I've noticed the commotion caused in this particular forum for the past two days or so and I hope that whatever it is that I will be asking will not stir up the people in here again.

But anyway...here's the story. I have done some reading through some other sites and came across the knowledge that gliders in the wild lives in a colony which means they prefer the company but I was just wondering if anyone here actually has a single glider.

I read through V2 and I know that misa has a single glider 'baby boy' or something...but other than that...oh and KP too but now she has Luna...erm... anyone else?

Keep up the good work people....and don't be hating and burning each other.

Peace

Welcome here.

Well.... gliders are social creatures and they do need their own kind. I actually own a single glider but will be getting a partner for her soon. Already 1 year with her. It is possible to own a single glider but the commitment is huge. At first it's fun with a single glider.... but I keep thinking, if I need to go somewhere for study or work for a few months overseas then what will become of my glider? It will of course be terribly lonely.... so a pair of gliders is better. At least they got each other to keep company while I'm away so they won't be too depress.

But when you are about to get gliders as pets, get 1 first. Get 1 joey, bond with the joey and after 2 to 3 months, get another one and bond with the 2nd one.... this method will give good results as both gliders will bond with you first and get used to you.

hi ebo249 yah.. most there are alot of us having single gliders... wild gliders live in colonys because they take care of each other that way and they are bonded together .. but home breeds are different.. they are attached to their owner and most of the time single glider owners devoted 80%- 100% of their time to their gliders.. rite?

Not correct ler.... most of us having single glider is coz we want the joey to bond first before getting another. Not everyone can commit 100% of their time to a single glider for 15 years.... so the best is a pair. Getting one glider at a time is a good way to bond but keeping a single glider forever is just gonna be a lot of work if you think of going vacation or overseas when you cannot bring a glider with you. It will be terribly upset.... it can show stress signs and even die from being lonely. The loneliness is from separation from the owner....

Gliders are naturally social.

cfp,

chill lar bro....

relax....

give chance lar....didn't we all started somewhere a long time ago.

As long people have intention to learn let us try to educate.

I know it is for the love of pets we are all here. At least that's one thing common that kept us together as fellow forum members.

We should stand united only to flame those who are stubborn and hard headed.

Let's not get personal and discriminate. Not everyone is born into rich family and have privilege to keep pets.

Jon,

It does not mean I am encouraging you to further practice your ignorance. You have a lot of hard work to do. A life is in your hands. Do have some buffer ready so that you can handle unexpected situations. If you fail this time, try to steer away from exotics to get a good headstart at keeping pets.

Haha, I'll be away this weekend, so nak tak nak, my husband also have to take care of my suggies tongue.gif

Curling tail is nothing lah I think, sometimes they do it, sometimes they don't. Mostly when they're sleeping or sitting still, it's curled up.

As for Eowyn, I dunno. Better check carefully. But it's definitely not PMS, animals don't get PMS lah.

Gollum curled his tail? Hahaha.... it could have been he was excited about something.... Kiah did it a few times when she gets over excited with something.... but not sure is it the same reason or not.

Markings? What type of markings?

Could the discolouration be due to her scent glands? I notice that this is more obvious with Roscoe around the chest and tummy where the scent glands are. But I believe the slight brownish tinge is due to the rascal's scent marking everything!

want me to explain ok? victor and kelvin. where r u? come and tell them those 2 females for u. victor is kweekit and kelvin is kubiz. we are real life frens in melaka. kubiz has one male, and he wants another female to make it a pair. ask him. then kweekit has one pair, but he want to get another female so he want 3 gliders. i only wanted 2. which is a pair. but cant afford it. do u think i wanna breed? oh hell no... i dont even dare to breed, coz i know i not experience enough. u wanna make sure i talking the truth. u can contact kubiz and also kweekit. dont boil before u ask for explanation pls... i only wanted 2 gliders. but i couldnt afford 2. so i get 1 1st then after maybe 3 or 4 months, find another female, so my felix got company. is that clear now?

thanks... is it free? wow... hehe... well, before i try the mix, the mix ingredients is wat i discussed with hun. so if there is anything wrong, she will tell me b4 i do the mix. and the thing i wanna try out, she says its fine. so, who am i gonna try if its not for felix? unless u wanna get fridge for me, and get hun's mix for me everytime? i wouldnt mind if u wanna do that. its better for me that way.
