Yupp.
There's also other methods for the transportation [and delivery] of importing and bringing them into M'sia, regardless your quantity is for personal use, or large bulk commercial purpose.

Apart from re-directing routes from Labuan, Langkawi, Thailand, Indonesia, etc, etc,

You can also use the shipping [ and private Airfreight ] companies, for "Door-to-Door" services, which pre-covers your individual product category taxes (IF ANY), Kastam's handling, importation, paperworks, and doorstep delivery included - and at a fraction of the cost.

Feel free to PM if i may be of help, or link below:

I bought some stuff from Gmarket and it's over RM500 value.

At Poslaju said
03-Jun-2011 03:21 Arrived at inward OE/Receive item at OE

at the Gmarket tracking system said,
14:28 03-Jun-2011 Handed over to Customs  MYKULA
Customs retention reason : High-value goods - Official customs declaration required

so, do I have to pick it up or something ?

I just got this from the EMS tracking and frankly, I'm a bit worried sweat.gif

Jul 22  Retention     MY1200  MALAYSIA

I bought some figurines totaling about RM470 including shipping. Is this retention only until customs opens again on Monday or I need to prepare to fork out extra cash?

Thanks! notworthy.gif

Just random replying this section of the 'common' issues periodically, but if you do have further enquiries, feel free to PM or drop a note, as I'm unable to 100% track and reply every single one who has posted some valid question.

There's a threshold value amount (and sizing) as to personal usage items, which is of not much commercial value accordingly to common-sense superceeded to local authorities' [Kastam] bible - subject to changes and the later reserves the final say.

But when it becomes a viable business gain, or you might be considering for Profit or further Business reason, whether just a few pieces, in bulk, or cyclical mass quantity importation into the country, you'll be exploring a long-term business solution for your calculated business, instead of playing russian roulette, where most matters have less of your control.

Basically, best to prevent the problems from starting, escalating to most of the example issues above... and also costs a ridiculous amount of unnecessary monies "On-Top of it" to further fix the problem, wasting time, travelling, headaches and again, your blood and sweat.

As all the previous and earlier posts mentioned,
build a business with the right Shipping Partner, let them handle their forte and you concentrate on yours.

In other words, and for business purposes: you'll need a Shipping Partner.

Bos... Itu Satelite Dish tak boleh eh...

Tak ada lesen kena saman starting RM 50,000 kalau installed dan adapt tahu.

Bukan Sirim fee... Memang 'haram' di sisi undang.
