importing computer parts like lcd monitor, printer need to have SIRIM AP approval ?? Didn't see any SIRIM label on most of the item i bought locally.  Does the AP pay 1 time only?? meaning if i import another same item again, no need for AP di??  blink.gif

Have a question.
Is it true buying/importing stuff from HK will not get tax?
I think I read it somewhere.

Or is it for certain items or certain weight only?
*
No.
Depend on what you are importing.

i bought 2 jersey from MU RM750. Now been held in custom. Was inform by UPS need to pay RM300 for tax.

If following the tariff code. only charge at Duty tax20% and sale tax 10%. Total is RM240 only.

Anyone kena b4 ? Any lubang to settle it ?

Please help.

Added on June 20, 2008, 6:21 pmjust an update....my friend jersey case solved. the custom says normal item below RM500 they will just let go..but this is above the limit set...undertable RM150 settle...#@%@^@^@!
*
I believe the RM300 included handling charges?
In your case, to calculate total duty and tax is not CIF x 30%.
It is CIF x 20% + ((CIF x 20%) + CIF) x 10%
Glad to hear that case closed.

Got a quick question. Let's say i live outside msia. Then i buy lots of things from outside msia and sent to me at another country. Then when i go back to msia, i put all those items in my luggage. Do i have to declare all those items to kastam in the airport? Or will i be charged with tax (and sirim app fee too tongue.gif)? Can i just not declare anything and 'run'. Afraid kene tahan lol.

If all the items is not in its original packages than its ok lor..
I'd brought back a tons of things from Rome and it got out ok.
Plus they didn't ask for declaration of items for Malaysian resident.

Is buying skincare items from overseas allowed?

I remember seeing a thread posted by someone who was caught for buying "Rogaine." I know that Rogaine is a hair product but one of its component is classified as a drug by JKM so I guess that was why he was caught.

But for skincare products; how will I know whether customs will allow it?

Telecommunication stuff are mainly under heading 8517. You just type 8517 and press "search"

Hi there, I might plan to get something from Hong Kong, so I'd like to ask bout the possibility of custom tax?

The item is a toy action figure (around 30cm in height), less than RM100. From what I've read here so far, toys/action figure will not be taxable?

How many qty you are planning to bring in?
Toys/action figure are subjected to 5% import duty & 10% sales tax.
How are you bringing it it?

There's an exemption clause:
(i) that the goods are imported by any person using air courier service through the following international airports - (a) kuala lumpur international airport, using sepang air cargo express; (b) bayan lepas (penang); © senai (johore bahru); (d) kota kinabalu; (e) kuching; and (f) subang;
(ii) that the goods imported are of a total value not exceeding rm500.00 per consignment CIF

With that clause you won't need to pay any duy & tax.
Forgotten to add: excluding cigarettes, tobacco and intoxicating liquor.

hi

baby garment of cotton under hs code 6209.20 000 is subject to 20 import duty and 10% sales tax.

if ard Rph 1.0 million = RM357

357x20% = RM430 x 10% = RM473

all you need to pay is ard RM473.
