Hi guys.

Does android tablet (wifi only) considered as computer items? Will kena tax if total price (including shipping) is RM420?

Thanks!

Has anyone bought skincare from Sasa.com recently ? I'm worried my package will get hold up.
I emailed the Custom enquiry , the response is really fast .
It says skincare (except powder) has no tax/duty, which is great.
But needs approval/permit from the National Pharmacy.

Hello kyleen,

I have not order skincare from Sasa.com, but I had order skincare products twice from US Site shipped by DHL.

It is correct that there is no tax/duty. However, need approval/permit from National Pharmacy.
My first time, I went through without any hiccup. However, this time (current DHL status: Clearance Delay) facing hiccup. DHL called to ask for more information regarding the products. Sigh, hopefully no problem.

Hey Kyleen,

i ordered from Sasa.com around February and my parcel came with a warning letter from the Pharmaceutical board or customs (i cant remb which one); it stated that i needed to have registration/permit to 'import' cosmetics... lol, it was for personal use. fyi, my order was a 400ml toner, 2 tubs of mask and a eyeliner.
apparently there's a new regulation that started on 1st Jan 2012 that restricted the purchase of cosmetics from overseas.

my orders last year did not have this problem...

SIGH.

i also dunno how to get my cosmetics from overseas now.....

Oh. No wonder, my shipment was on hold and I was verbally advised by DHL Agent regarding the permit issue.
My last order in December (ETA Malaysia) do not have this problem as well.

hi guys, can you please help me understand how exactly Malaysian Customs charge us on importing tobacco (cigars). Last week I was charged RM395.94 for the cigars that I bought from overseas.

Here's the details:

I was charged under the 2402.10.000 (tariff code) which says:

Import Rate (RM200/KG) + Sales Tax 5% + Excise Duty 20% and 150 p.u. (per unit)

How do they calculate the unit? Mine was 1526.46.. I wonder where did they dig the figure from..

The total weight was 0.45 kg (which is 450g) - it was 45 sticks of cigars.

I bought the cigars for RM686.91 (it was 2 boxes of cigars and 2 sample packs of 5 cigars).

In the form, they said this:

Duti+Eksais+Cukai Jualan = Jumlah
RM90 + 254.38 +51.56 = RM395.94

by right, the excise duty is RM 137.39 (coz, 686.91 x 0.2 (which means 20%) = 137.39).. why is it 254.38??

and sales tax.. by right it should be just RM686.91 x 0.05 (which means 5%) = RM34.35, but they charge me RM51.56..

I am perplexed la.. BTW I attach the photo of the document here..

Can you guys please help?

Thanks a gee!

you will still need to do declaration even thou no duty/tax, which might be troublesome/waste time/money if you go your self, might just want to let pos malaysia do on your behalf with minimal charges by them.
