Sigh my item was suppose to received today sad.gif

Anyways the item is from Italy and cost 188 Euro shipping another 50 euro and 10 euro in insurance

So a total of 248 euro

I got charged RM 332.69 sigh

I used Fedex and this has never happen to me before, do you think it would be cheaper for me if i go to the customs and talk to them? Do i need to make any appointment before i head on there? Thank you!

Hi, if I buy figurine or toy from oversea that exceed RM500, what is the charge?

What is the next level of charges? RM1000? If so, how will the tax be?

Any different between SAL and EMS? I heard SAL if exceed RM250 will be charge.

1) is the DSLR set ( contains of lens, tripod....) is taxable for 10%-30%? or 0% tax?
2) if i buy DSLR, should i declare it at SIRIM.. as it is an electronic camera.. im staying at kedah.. of sirim is at KL.. mati la..
3) the price is rm 4000.. so i need to declare it at kastam rite....

if anyone has idea.. can help me.

to explain in detail:
total item u bought: RM X
postage charge : RM Y
Tax = 1.2(X+Y)

then another 10 % sales tax is:
1.1* 1.2(X+Y) = 1.32 (X+Y)

Hi lhongwuh,

Can I check with you if I am looking to buy an exquisite watch overseas such as Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, etc and getting it shipped back, would it be any problems at the custom dept? I know watches are non dutiable, but since I am buying a pretty expensive watch, around RM 90k and getting it couriered via either DHL or FEDEX, would it be safe? The seller offered to get it insured. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
