QUOTE(myremi @ Apr 9 2007, 10:57 AM) gladys : westerners tend to have a skewered view about female gamers. it's either they are considered losers because they're nerds since they play the time , wear specs, pimple, etc. Or that they just focus on the looks and not on the game skill. it's like there's no middle ground for a girl gamer to fit in. as long as she's a girl gamer, she's either very weird or a bimbo-wannabe. Eh, that's a bit of a skewered view about westerners having a skewered view about female gamers..then again, if Game Axis is getting a man to do the interview, aiyaya. at the end of the day, if you don't get interviewed by Game Axis, i can interview you on my game blog. er, discussion on porn, outside coffee topic lah u 2. Besides all gamers are male until proven otherwise! And getting back on topic - how's this for pr0n? http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?t...273237496&sid=1 |

QUOTE(myremi @ Apr 9 2007, 01:42 PM) of course it's skewered. put it this way. research is done yes. the findings are what u mention yes. what research hasn't necessarily done is persuade the male-dominated community in general that girl gamers good at what they do. girl gamers are usually look down upon or ridiculed for playing a game that is considered mannish. I'm the only Malaysian in my EU guild (and as far as i know, on my server lol) and i like it that way. Thing is we've always had "girlz" in my guilds. And we've always accepted them as equals in raids. In fact one of the most feared and respected pvp warrior players on my server was female (probably cos of the garangness).when the mainstream medias are still making a big hoohaa or going big-eyed about the existance of female gamers for more than 20 years, you know that it's not widely accepted for females to be gaming. let's take out nintendogs, the sims, 2nd life. look at the RPGS, RTS games out there. majority of female players are still closet players and only recently have some been speaking up about it. surprisingly, female asian players are more accepted in asian gaming communities compared to the western gaming community. i'm not sure why this is happening but it's easier for an asian male to accept the fact that females like playing games and that they're pretty decent. for westerners, they're still extremely shock that females are gaming or are in denial. Added on April 9, 2007, 1:58 pm actually, it wasn't intentional but after reading it, my brain went oops. a blog is what you want to say. or post. although, it can get boring. i got bored after 2-3 yrs of food blogging. Yes, they are rare and guys tend to be nicer to them as well. But i don't think that's a bad thing. In spite of your preconceptions, from experience, in wow at least i don't think girls are discriminated against based on their sex. And it's always nice to hear a female voice on vent/TS @ Quaz This thread is about coffee... i think it went off topic ages ago. Besides nothing to do at work apart from trolling |

QUOTE(myremi @ Apr 9 2007, 03:18 PM) kid, q : don't worry about going off-topic here. after all, it's like coffee time here anytime. off topics are ok with me LAWL who's worried about going off topic? It's my duty to do so and yeah, it's mostly us 3 gals trying to settle a get-together in May. only reason it's a separate post becoz we always hijack other posts. >< guild recruitment, heated discussions, looking for WoW starter pack and suddenly bang, we're talking meeting up. >< gladys : awwww... sorry to hear about that sad story. seen : cannot imagine leveling a character for so long. >< how did u guys tahan the pure grind of asian mmo? i reember in FlyFF very painful. tried a few other asian mmos, all the same. cannot tahan. |

QUOTE(seen @ Apr 12 2007, 02:27 PM) True!! Doing a google search, US WoW gold is sold at about USD370 if you bulk buy 3000 gold. So for 5000, it should be worth roughly USD550... which is about RM1900.... Well... the punter is getting 2 sessions for the price of USD 550, and she has a costume lol.I'm pretty sure they can get some really hot and sexy prostutite for USD500...not that "lady" in the photo... |

http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=rVMhkhxZZxGxzMxRhtVo edit: messed up talent build first time round. This is on the basis since most of our damage comes from dots and instants MF, VT, SW:P - mana efficiency and regen and obligatory aggro reduction talents. I don't value crit at all as a shadow priest - who want's the mind blasts to crit anyway? This post has been edited by Kidicarus: Apr 18 2007, 01:16 AM |

QUOTE(myremi @ Apr 18 2007, 09:29 AM) Atm, the pre70 instances, I can still fade out of Silence. Even with Shielding after the Silence pull. But my luck may run out at lvl70 instances. >< http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=bxMhkhhZZxMgzMtRhtVoMy runs with Shadow Priests through the 2nd room of SL has been terrible. Somehow, their MC gets resisted a lot and when the MT/OT cannot tank multiple mobs well, it's a slaughter house. Probably need to go full points into Shadow Focus to see if that helps. PreBC leveling for my Holy priest was Holy Fire, Mind Blast, SW:P. Didn't like Smite much. And a lot of pot drinking. I went to d/l an addon to see how much mana VT actually gives back. I'm actually thinking of staying Shadow even though my previous goal was to change to Holy Spec at 70. The pew-pew-pew-ness is getting to me too. My personal grinding spec at level 68 now. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I had to sit down and drink. Standard pull - VT, SW:P, Flay, Fear Rank 1, Flay, wand, Spirit tap! Rinse and repeat. Mobs seem to go down between 10-15 secs and i hardly get any down time. To see how much mana VT Actually gives back, scrolling combat text. Your screen will be filled with a wall of text. On a side note, mind blast is crazy aggro. I remember holding aggro on onyxia for about 2 minutes with mindblasts in old wow even though i had all the aggro reduction skills lol. The irony about my priest is I made my warrior so i could grind/farm for my holy priest, but now it's my shadow priest farming for my prot warrior Edit: MC breaking is also affected by your +hit% with spells. Everyone learned this on the razuvious in Naxxramas, that by stacking +4% hit you would reduce the chance of MC breaking on every tick to nearly 0%. @myremi, so your explanation for the funky tracert is some sort of conspiracy theory rather than incompetancy by tmnet? Aiyah, sometimes it's better to go for the simpler explanation.
