Well, when I play in CCs by myself, I've had many experiences where guys would come over and attempt to "teach" me stuff about the game that I was playing.

One particular incident which is still stuck in my mind was when I was playing RO in a CC. I was lvling a lv70 hunter. At that time, my hp and mp was low but if you play a hunter in RO, you know you can kill a mob without it touching you at all if you set the traps right. Anyway, this guy beside me saw that I was lvling with low hp and mp and he said "hey, your hp is low". I just said "I know" and he said "come, let me teach you something". I thought what kinda hax or something is he gonna teach me, manatau, he leaned over and pressed the "insert" key, which basically is the sit command (in RO, when you sit, your hp and mp regenerates faster).

I was totally speechless (I don't usually get speechless) when he did that and he even said "your hp will regen faster this way". I was thinking WTF? I'm a lv70 hunter and you think I didn't know how to SIT?

My conclusion is, either he thinks I'm really stupid just coz I'm a female or he is really stupid in thinking that I'm stupid.

I'm the only Malaysian in my EU guild (and as far as i know, on my server lol) and i like it that way.  Thing is we've always had "girlz" in my guilds.  And we've always accepted them as equals in raids.  In fact one of the most feared and respected pvp warrior players on my server was female (probably cos of the garangness).

Yes, they are rare and guys tend to be nicer to them as well.  But i don't think that's a bad thing.

In spite of your preconceptions, from experience, in wow at least i don't think girls are discriminated against based on their sex.

Umm.. hand level to 92 actually, the incident happend when I was around 70ish. Had a guildmate who lvled his wizard to lv99. To me, I play games for the experience, which includes lvling....but in RO it became bot or guild war....So when WoW launched, I never even CONSIDERED going back.

Gladys, I was in Iris1 in a guild which is the "opposite faction" of legions...but for the life of me, I cannot remember my own guild name.. >.< Only remember the enemy's hahaha

Well, it's definitely nice to hear the response from all of you regarding female gamers. And hearing you guys speaking up strongly about it. Other admittedly, us female gamers have to prove our worth probably a bit harder than the guys. And when mistakes do happen, it's sometimes gut reaction to blame the females. Not all the times, just sometimes.



Although, I admit that I like mixed-guilds rather than an all-female guild There are things that guys are better at than gals and vice versa, resulting in team-effort.. Or it's dependant upon the person. Too much feminity in one group can occasionally lead to ... errrm... rumbles and grumbles.

Just something I'm wondering, (this is NOT male bashing or me trying to wave my..um..e-boobs? around) do you feel any different if you were to lose in a duel to a female than to a male when you did not know the gender of that person until after you lost?

Coz there was this mage who lost a few times in a duel to my priest and after about 3 consecutive losses he whispered me and said "good duels, bro" and I replied "try sister" and his attitude suddenly changed 180 degrees. He whispered something like "WTF? yeah right!" and I replied "It IS right" and he whispered "yeah whatever, get the f*** away from me you gay" and /ignore me. Then there's this other time when they guy lost and found out about my gender he was like "lol, damn now I feel even worse!".

But I've gone into numerous duels with guys who knew about my gender before the duel and they feel OK even when they lost. So what's up with this?

From the sounds of it, it sounds like he assumed that you're a man, and a gay man at that. Not from the last bit but when you mentioned the word "sister".

As for the 2nd guy, if he feels worst, probably it's due to a bad day (can get to anyone) or low self-esteem. But he's still able to cope with it better than the first guy did.

Best is to forget out it and not get too upset about it all. Mind you, even I get upset at times. It's a hormone thing.

oh yeah, the rainbow bit. they all puff up or something or the rainbow appears at the end of an encounter or something like that. something about being able to do it once or something.

Well when I was playing on the US servers, I got pugged into a guild AQ20 raid. They were a relevantly new guild so I just kinda went onto vent and kinda briefed them about the fight on Kurinaxx. Anyway, after that, news kinda spread that I am apparently, some "hot asian chick with a sexy accent" and from then on, I get PM from strangers asking me to speak on their vent. Of course I never actually did go and speak on some random vent server but after that, it was SIGNIFICANTLY easier for me to get a group to do something, or farm something...ahahaha

IMO, if you got it then flaunt it. If you can use the female charm to get your way then use it. I don't see this as any of those "betraying your own sexuality" crap thing. If you got it, flaunt it!!!

One guild actually PAID me 15g to talk on their guild vent. It was rather silly but funny but it was a guild that consisted of many people that I know so I just went on their vent and fooled around. Sigh...those were the days...

True!! Doing a google search, US WoW gold is sold at about USD370 if you bulk buy 3000 gold. So for 5000, it should be worth roughly USD550... which is about RM1900....

My main is lvl 70 so whatever greens that dropped from outlands that will benefit here, she gets it. Even some world drops are being sent to her for potential use once she hits 70.

If I remembered correctly, there's not lot of quest pieces that has Spell damage in the lvl50-59 range unless u're willing to run instances for boss drops. More in Lvl60 instances.

Once you get into Outlands though, the gear from Hellfire quests will give you a whole new change in wardrobe. And I so geram that I couldn't get the Crystalfire Staff. But hit lvl65 quickly from all the Ramparts run that I went to Nagrand to get the Baton from Ring of Blood Quests.

VT gives back low mana. Kinda regretted speccing for it but since I'm respeccing once I hit lvl70, i'm not taking it out.

There's actually a lot of shadow priest running around now. The DPS is fun.

Something I'm thinking about. I'm not sure about how good the build is for raids or instancing but there have been various circumstances that lightwell is starting to get interesting. And VE is just great as passive healing if the tanks aren't taking too great a damage. I saw a few priest with this hybrid a couple of times. Just not sure how the mana generation is like though, without the discipline talents.

My personal grinding spec at level 68 now.  Seriously, I can't remember the last time I had to sit down and drink.  Standard pull - VT, SW:P, Flay, Fear Rank 1, Flay, wand, Spirit tap! Rinse and repeat.  Mobs seem to go down between 10-15 secs and i hardly get any down time.

To see how much mana VT Actually gives back, scrolling combat text.  Your screen will be filled with a wall of text.

On a side note, mind blast is crazy aggro.  I remember holding aggro on onyxia for about 2 minutes with mindblasts in old wow even though i had all the aggro reduction skills lol.

The irony about my priest is I made my warrior so i could grind/farm for my holy priest, but now it's my shadow priest farming for my prot warrior 

Edit: MC breaking is also affected by your +hit% with spells.  Everyone learned this on the razuvious in Naxxramas, that by stacking +4% hit you would reduce the chance of MC breaking on every tick to nearly 0%.

drink coffee la, why priest again.. go read more b4 u post since u do not have the experiance with a shadow priest in raid b4.

I should really change what I type. Ok, meant drinking water rather than drinking pots. Never use pots during leveling. Using the same tactic as Kidicarus except the Fear. When I'm surrounded by too many mobs, never sure where that mob will run too, even if I did pull it far.
SCT gives it per tick. I went to d/l VampWatch just to see what was my current total now and compare it later when I hit 70.
Mind is farming for my resto druid. Seriously damn gimp.
Hmm...how much +spell hit % do you currently have at lvl 68? I'm pretty sure that most of the Shadow Priest I've run with had hit the 4% limit for MC. Although, have not been to Naxx at all. But having gone thru Shadow Labs and Shattered Halls, it wasn't a pretty sight.

I've seen the priest using MC while the mob is running to us and not as a first pull. Reason is that the aggro from the MC now aggroes the next group of mobs in both SL and SH. Anyone got better ideas?
Pre-BC days? Coz I don't see it in any of the post-2.0 patch notes for Priest. If anything, it's probably gotten worst because Silent Resolve now no longer reduces threat on Shadow Spells.
