Hey Guys, Don't think I found any topic related to this Data Execution Preventer (DEP) in this thread, so lemme start one up... Ok the thing is, to be honest, I wasn't really aware that Microsoft implements this DEP into their WinXP Service Pack 2 update and to my surprise, recently I get a lot of this DEP warning popping up warning that some of my legitimately program to cause DEP to pop up. From my experience, it seems that after I install Kaspersky AV v6, it gives me this lots of DEP pops up. Must be me but yeah, I kinda dislike it so I revert back to AVG AV Free Edition, so far no problem. So, my point is, anyone having issues with DEP with AV like Kaspersky or DEP itself? Should I somehow tweak my DEP settings? (Knowing you can't disable it) Cheers all! p/s: For those who doesn't know what is DEP, check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_Execution_Prevention

You can set rules to stop DEP from making false positives. My Oxford Dictionary Program also faced similar problems. Just disable DEP for that particular program. BUT, never disable DEP. It might come in handy one day (as for my case, an unexpected memory buffer overflow). Live with it. Not everything is perfect . Cheers!

Try to tell Windows to disable DEP for specific programs:-
- Go to System Properties -> Advanced -> Performance->Settings -> Data Execution Prevention -> Select Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select -> Click Add -> Add your program -> Click OK -> Restart.
