I also know of guys who do the same. This is not a "gender biased" sort of thing, it's certain people's character. It could be men or women, but yes, there are certainly people like that.

And secondly... I will say, travelling to Japan is affordable and not exactly cheap. It can be done cheaply, but also same - it may not be enjoyable because you're restraining yourself from spending.
I'll say every season is a good season, just depending on your preference. What is it that you want to see/ do? And which part of Japan are you talking about? People who wants to see Sakura will go in April and those who wish to enjoy fireworks, festivals will go in Summer. So it really depends what you're looking forward to, and which part of Japan you're referring to.

i guess the first question is....what is your tolerance towards cold ?
when the wind blows...it stings your bones, but can be managed by wearing thick winter clothing

if you are looking for sales in terms of shopping....then sales on winter clothing may not be applicable if you are living in malaysia since you won't be wearing it everyday

generally winter is considered non-peak season because angmohs don't really fancy winter, they love summer

Yea just checked the ticket..cheapest return also around myr1500-1800 for MAS. Usually how much cheapest ticket can get including baggage for MAS and Airasia?

What will be best place to visit during winter? I am okay with any suggestions, 1st time visiting, will definitely need to revisit to cover whole Japan. So I would like to know where people usually visit during December-Jan. Thanks.

We will talk about all-inclusive rate - from luggage to meal.
RM1,800 is considered expensive.
RM1,500 for MAS or JAL is average price. Can consider.
RM1,200 for MAS/ JAL or other full board carrier is considered good price/ cheap.
RM1,000 and below is considered really cheap.

AA goes between RM1,000 (when there's promo) to RM1,500.

Winter time the day is short (unless you leave early) and night comes early. It's really hard to tell you "where" people visit in winter because it's subjective. Just choose a destination that attracts you. What I like about winter is the illuminations at night, and you can consider going during the period of New Year. However, NY celebration in Japan isn't like how we do it here. They do not have countdown parties and fireworks - although certain part of Tokyo may start to change or have small parties in bars or pubs.

Japanese commonly goes to the temple to pray during midnight and dispose the old charms, while getting new ones at the temple. On NY's day they head to the temple to pray as well, so expect congestion in the train and temples (extremely crowded). However you may get to enjoy street snacks as some places will have rows and rows of street food nearby/ outside the temple. On 2nd January - it's the best day for shopping. You get to buy Fukubukuro (lucky bag) for low prices in a lot of stores in Japan. Get your cash/ credit card ready!!! Note that it only happens for 1 day - only on 2nd Jan of each year.

More on Fukubukuro:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fukubukuro
https://izanau.com/article/fukubukuro

The downside of winter: Some stores/ restaurants/ attractions are closed from 30th Dec to 2nd or 3rd Jan (or even longer).

Next time, go direct to the counter to check in. Since you have luggage to check in. Tell the counter staff you're couple.

The website don't have feeling and cannot see.

web-check in will be on the flight day itself...not sure if still possible to get seat next to each other? nowadays people like to do web check in...

You've done your research, it's good.
There's a lot in Tokyo that you'll miss due to the stay'/ travel in Osaka-Kyoto.

Tokyo Sky Tree - I won't place my bet on that to view Mt Fuji. Not sure about the observation deck, but all the best.
Shirakawa-Go back to Takayama? We took a bus from Shirakawa-Go and it will drop you off at a bus station. From there, we took another bus to Takayama train station. We used the seishun 18 kippu for all the travelling from Nagoya >> Takayama >> Shirakawa Go >> Takayama >> Nagoya.

your Day 9, 10, and 11 can slightly change and add in more places.
Ikebukuro is very small only, assuming u go morning 9am when shop just started opening, im guessing u could be done with Ikebukuro by around 1-2pm or earlier. then u can take train to Yokohama and hang out there and come back shinjuku or shibuya for dinner. or perhaps u can go Yokohama in the morning then come bak to Ikebukuro when u r done.

day 10 perhaps u can go disney sea since u already in japan? else u can go ginza shopping too instead of shinjuku and shibuya, also u can head over to odaiba for some view.

day 11, akihabara i suggest u go in the morning or afternoon as shop there pretty much close around 8pm so dun go during evening

hi guys, thanks for the feedback. Appreciate it.

For Tokyo, anymore interesting place that can recommend/must go? Where else would be better to get nice view of Mt Fuji? Still deciding whether to do TOKYO-OSAKA-KYOTO-TOKYO or just stay in Tokyo for the duration of my trip. The reason why not considering disneysea is because plan to go USJ already. Do not want too much theme park in single trip. smile.gif
